MTD 753-08323 Sears Craftsman Carburetor AC8 TEC Part

I have 5 acres of heavily wooded land. I loose trees and limbs every year so I use my chainsaw a lot to cut these up and burn them. But even though chainsaw manufacturers as well as other small engine suppliers claim you can use up to 10% ethanol gas, I have had numerous issues doing so. The ethanol tends to gum up the fuel lines and carburetors. I have since learned to use additives that take care of that but have also learned that changing a carburetor on a small engine is a pretty simple and effective thing to do. In this case, getting a $25 carburetor and installing ti myself, saved me $100 by not having to have a small engine shop do it for me!! After installation, 1 crank and the motor runs great!!!

Yes, I am lazy and would rather buy a new carburetor than try to clean it again. This is exactly what I needed to get my Trimmer Plus engine working again after leaving old gas with ethanol in it for too long. I won't make that mistake again!

Took it apart, picked a prime vendor and ordered it Saturday about 4pm, was here Sunday afternoon. Wow!Without having done it before, just took it apart. Searched for a rebuild kit. Figured out there really is no rebuild, the whole carb is only about $20... Took about 10 minutes to reinstall, worked without adjustment. Took the housing cover thumb-screw off. Two screws hold the carb together, two hold the assembly down. If you have any mechanical skills, it's a no-brainer.And next year, drain the carb for the winter... Run it dry. As per instructions...

Problem is Troy Bilt trimmer design in general. I finally made it work fine and I think carburetor is not the only problem with this product.

Turns out I probably just needed oil in the trimmer, but the replacement carb was a perfect fit and runs like a champ. now i have a replacement in stock - i wouldn't even think of returning it. some minor adjustments to the idle screw and new oil - purred like a kitten. came with the o-ring. super happy with this purchase.

My neighbor was ready to pitch his almost new trimmer when I offered to check it out. I am no expert but have tinkered with my fair share of cantankerous garden equipment. The new carb arrived as specified and was easy to install. There are no instructions, but I had a service manual that covered removal of the old carb. After install the idle did require minor adjustment. Trimmer runs great now.

Runs like new!

Direct fit to my Troybilt 6044, installed and worked as supposed too. Only needed to adjust idle. Price was quite a bit less than some competitors.
