Nice Tester Kit
This tester works very well. Type C charging. It has an accessory to facilitate testing SMD devices.

One somewhat major failing in my opinion
This works just fine in all regards except for one. One is VERY important. Although the device can determine whether it is a transistor and if PNP or NPN, it does not identify the 3 pins properly. If, for example, I insert a 2N3904 transistor into the unit's socket 1, 2, and 3 - no matter how the transistor is oriented, it does not identify the Base, Emitter, and Collector for each of the 3 pins identified in the display. No matter how I insert the transistor, it always shows PIN 1 as the Collector! Of course if I insert the transistor with the collector in slot one, it then displays correctly. I don't understand if it can do so well to determine it is a transistor no matter which way I insert it, it should be able to display properly the pin-out! Mine came with version 1.5 and I was able to go to their web site and figure out the two files I needed to download and use based on the much more up to date manual also there in the product support page. But even after updating to the latest 1.7 version, it still was unable to display the proper pins by number as displayed on the color screen. This reason I give it 4 stars, but perhaps I should give it only 3 for this big reason.

great for quick testing
Besides identifying the characteristics of transistors, diodes, zener diodes, etc., this device will give ballpark readings of R, L, and C. Not as accurate as my LCR meter but often it's good enough.

OK, with a few glitches
I received it less than 24 hours after ordering. That’s amazing. After charging the battery, I gave it a shot. After every attempt to measure, I got the “component missing or unknown” message. So it’d take the part out, clean the leads, and put back in. Then it would usually work. I’ve since discovered that it *always* gives that error message the first time you push the Test button. Ignore it, push it again, and it will work the second time.I previously had one of those earlier versions that cost about half as much and is without an enclosure and uses a 9V battery, but it conked out. Anyway, I think it was more accurate and had a faster response time than this one. This one is pretty accurate with resistance (maybe 1%), but maybe not as good as the older model with capacitance and inductance. Capacitors measure about 7% off or more. Not terrible but maybe could be better. Inductor measurements are similar with 10% or more error. It’s hard to judge the accuracy of BJT, JFET, MOSFET, but those checks appear OK. One good thing - I was surprised at the published high end of the range for C and L, and I verified it will measure ten times or more what’s specified.

Excellent for the price.
I tested a variety of individual components in my parts bin. This works as advertised. A very low value inductor was identified as a resistor, but then correctly measured. A larger inductor and a speaker were correctly identified as inductors, reporting impedance and inductors. Transistors were correctly identified. Connect devices to any of the numbered pins, which pins has what polarity or function will be identified. When pressing "Test" to power up, you will need to press it again to test the device. I missed this fact and thought the thing was broken. 3 test leads and two fixtures are provided to assist in connecting. I don't know how this will perform for devices in a circuit. That also depends on the circuit. It has a shorting relay for capacitors but I suggest shorting them before testing. One problem with more expensive testers is that any testing device can be misused and damaged. This one features "Less tears", a very low replacement cost. For a beginner with limited knowledge, that's an important feature.

Still doesn't work as advertised after months of manufacturer updates
This product is disappointing. I have given it some time before writing this in hopes that the manufacturer will provide firmware that enables this to function properly, but firmware 1.0.8 still has serious flaws. Most annoyingly, for NPN transistors, you will get complete different leg identifications depending on the which legs are seated in slots 1/2/3. Pin/leg sequences should be consistent across all seatings, but I see C and E are frequently swapped. Apparently QC is minimal with this company. It looks nice, but the IR feature is almost useless except for verifying that a signal exists, the tester is slow, and it has serious deficiencies when used for transistors. I wish I could return mine.

FNRSi LCR-P1 Tester
This tester not too good if you test Transistor and won't look at Transistor spec then you may think it works beautiful but some Transistors are ok, don't get me wrong but some of them are not, it gave me wrong PIN configuration that mean I cannot rely on this device, whenever I cannot find a spec for Transistor then I am doom cannot verify a correct PINI tested Transistor 2N3904 and it gave me PIN-E(3) and PIN-C(1) but the spec said PIN-E(1) not (3) then PIN-C(3) not (1) no matter which way I insert Transistor forward/backward still gave me the same.then I tested another Transistor BD139 and it gave me PIN-E(2) instead of (3) and PIN-C(1) instead of (2) and PIN-B(3) instead of (1) completely wrong, but when I try to turn Transistor facing opposite direction inserted and test it, came out correct as a spec. So what is in the world do we know which way we suppose to insert Transistor into this device? First I seem to like it a lot but my trusting on this device is down due to incorrect results.Oh by the way I also try update firmware from version 1.0.4 all the way 1.0.7 each version is the same resultI want to post it here so people can see or maybe have an idea to fix it?
