The best you can get for the price
These are very nice Cricket ball display cases, the best ones I found after looking for quite a while, actually. They're way better than those plain acrylic boxes, or even worse, the ones that have dovetail joints to hold them together. Nasty! These are not as heavy as I thought they were going to be but the wood, though cheap, is well finished, and it has felt feet pre-attached, which unfortunalely are not non-slip. Also, there's a nice recess on the bottom should you want to keep some provenance with your collectables. In my case photographs of the ball being signed, sealed in a small envelope and taped in the space. The acrylic cover slots in quite nicely to the base, but it doesn't dust-seal, it just sits there with a gap between the plinth and itself, therefore dust will get in, although I may put some kind of rubber strip along the bottom of each cover to stop this. The worst thing about these was that for the price - and £20 is not cheap - the acrylic stand that the ball rests on is not fixed in position, and it slides really easily - the slightest touch when cleaning and its slides. So in order to temporarily rectify this, while I get the materials to make this display perfect, I cut out a circle about the size of a 10 pence piece of double-sided sticky tape and pasted it to centre of the bottom of the stand, and stick it in place. It won't be visible once the ball is in position, and it will hold it securely so it won't slide any more. But that is not how it will end up. I will be putting a square of 18mm artificial turf in it, and the ball will rest on a 25mm hole cut in the centre. All in all for £20, it is a beautiful way to display a collectable, but I have taken a star off for the loose fitting acrylic cover and the non-fitted stand (which in my case was a benefit as I will eventually not use them). Nevertheless, of all the ones that you will find on Amazon, these are the best option.
