Needed a new one cause my original broke off. Works great for elevated base front sight. If you use it on the barrel without a base it would have to be cut down a little.

Very long threading. Had to cut it down on my 870 express

Installed on an old 1920's Model 12, required small amount of fitting but was not difficult. Happy with purchase.

This does not fit my Mossberg 500. Which I inquired about before purchase and was told it would fit. Should send it back, but its such a PITA. Guess I could use it as a sinker on my fishing pole. LATER EDIT-Correct thread size for a Mossberg 500 is usually a 5-40. 6-48 is Remington 870 Express and 1187 Sportsman models, also SKB and Ithaca. Eventually bought HI-VIZ sight with most adapters included, which works great. However I wanted the factory bead. AWWW poor me.

If you are a DIY person or a professional gunsmith, such as I am, these Numrich sight beads are of great quality, fit and finish. highly recommended.

The neck between threads and bead is too long for bead to sit down flush into vent rib. I took all but 1.5 threads off and still wouldn’t fit Remington 870 and was longer than any of my other branded shotgun vent ribs.
