Do not Buy
The body composition does not work. No support. They all in France schedule. No help. This is feature that makes it so expensive. And yet it does not work. This is the second product I bought from Withings that is not accurate and does not operate as expected. The second product is their Blood Pressure Meter. They know about this issue and yet they keep selling poor design and poor quality products.

Not for everyone
Believe the other five star reviews. All I have to add is that it is pointless to have this scale if all one cares about is why clothes aren't fitting like they used to. Do not get this if you are the type who gets a new gym membership on January 2 and a month later you forgot where the gym is. What the scale is good for, or at least how I rationalized the purchase, is it that it complements a geek's approach to health and fitness. That is, we all know that improving one's health is fairly simple: eat better, get more sleep, drop the carbs, add ninety minutes or more of vigorous activity a week and stay out of the taverns. You don't need this scale or even any scale if all that is of interest is generally better health and clothes fit. Now for those who enjoy body hacking or What Ifs? This scale is awesome. Lets say that you adopt a regime of regular fasting and daily walks. This will burn fat and likely trash your muscles and that result will be reflected in the body composition readings. Dropping carbs? H2O numbers change. Overworking your exercise, your heart patterns will change (though for Reasons, you only get afib notifications but the ECG/EKG graphs are telling if you know how to read them and good at discerning artifacts) Want to know how that fad exercise/diet is working out for you? Now you have personal anecdata to support or refute whatever claims were made. Just took up running, swimming or boxing? See how these new activities integrate with your body shaping. Are the numbers valid? Who knows and how would a consumer know unless they had access to medical grade and certified analogs. I don't think it matters unless your numbers somehow work themselves into conversations, but trends, which this scale and app can provide will give fairly decent feedback to whatever diet/exercise plan you are following. The downside, and it is fairly understandable why, is that this scale does not play well with the Garmin Universe. Garmin has the best tracking watch - the Fenix line, this is indisputable. What Garmin doesn't have is the best peripherals. I was seriously considering upgrading from an ancient Withings smart scale to the Garmin offering because of the integration, but I wanted more toyz and having more dollars than sense opted for this prosumer scale. Thankfully MyFitnessPal is the intermediary between these two health and fitness gadget Goliaths. Because of the robust data collection that Withings is doing, and the plethora of data scientists itching to leverage AI or something to generate marketable data, I can't help but think that broader acceptance of this device would lead to things that Garmin has been doing with their data partners and that is to invent scoring mechanism based on some combination of metrics collected from this scale and integrations from other peripherals (BP and Oxy sensors) along with dietary habits from collaborations with various diet tracking apps. I look forward to what Withings comes up with in the future and I can only encourage them to work with their market competitors and intermediaries so that they can make some Withings brand Health numbers so that metrics based body hackers can game. We are odd ducks, but quite frankly its us who buy these wildly unnecessary devices.

Overpriced garbage
For nearly $500 I expected so much more. This thing claimed my bf% was 5% more than my Dexes scan results, and understated my weight by more than 4lbs. Absolute garbage. If the goal is to get a benchmark and see how you’re trending, go with with a far cheaper option.

Premium Design with Wi-Fi Convenience, but Plagued by Unnecessary Complexity
The Withings Body Scan has an elegant design, advanced features, and the convenience of Wi-Fi connectivity. Still, the overall experience has been overshadowed by its unintuitive setup and frustrating user management. What I Liked: Built-In Rechargeable Battery: This scale doesn’t rely on disposable batteries. Charging via USB-C is convenient, and the scale even displays the battery percentage—a thoughtful feature. Premium Look and Feel: The design is sleek and modern, with a great glass top in any bathroom. However, the glass feels fragile, and I doubt it could withstand even a minor fall. Wi-Fi Connectivity: The Wi-Fi feature is a standout. Unlike Bluetooth-only scales, I can step on the scale anytime without having my phone nearby. Measurements sync automatically, albeit with a slight delay, which is convenient. What Needs Improvement: 1. Unintuitive Setup and Basic Usage The initial setup is a prime example of unnecessary complexity: Powering On: To activate the scale for the first time, you must hold a tiny side button for 10 seconds—a step that isn’t immediately obvious. While the scale was detected when I stepped on it, it only displayed the battery status instead of guiding me to turn it on correctly or suggesting the next steps. A simple prompt like "Press the power button to continue" would have saved much confusion. Ineffective auto-detection: Even after setup, the scale doesn’t successfulily detect the correct user. It assumes you’re just charging the scale rather than trying to weigh yourself. For a premium device, this lack of user-friendly guidance feels bizarre. 2. Painful User Management Managing multiple users on this scale is unnecessarily cumbersome: Assigning Measurements: After weighing myself, the scale failed to recognize me as the primary user. This was because I had entered a conservative weight estimate during setup. Instead of assuming the owner used the scale, it buried the measurement with the “unassigned.” category. Worse, the app didn’t prompt me to assign unassigned measurements, leaving them buried deep in its menus. I had to find and assign each unassigned measurement to my profile manually. Once I did this, the scale improved at identifying me versus my kids, but this process was far from intuitive. Adding Users: Adding other users is another headache. For instance, my wife had to create her profile and pair the scale with her phone. While this might cater to privacy concerns, it creates unnecessary barriers for families who want shared access. Even after pairing, I haven’t figured out how to add her to the "family group" so she can view the kids’ measurements. This limitation feels unnecessarily restrictive. 3. Syncing with Samsung Health The integration with Samsung Health is a glaring issue: The scale syncs weight and other metrics but wildly miscalculated my step count, suggesting I was averaging 20,000 steps daily—something I’ve never achieved. This wasn’t a minor discrepancy but a complete misrepresentation that undermines confidence in the accuracy of other metrics. If syncing with Samsung Health is critical for you, I recommend caution. The inaccuracies make it feel like a disconnected feature rather than a seamless integration. Conclusion: The Withings Body Scan is a visually impressive device with a solid feature set. Wi-Fi connectivity is a standout feature, offering convenience many Bluetooth-only scales lack. However, the scale is plagued by poor user experience, including an overly complicated setup, unintuitive user management, and significant issues with third-party integrations like Samsung Health. While the scale improves once you’ve manually assigned measurements and completed initial setup hurdles, it falls short of expectations for a premium product. This scale has excellent potential for tech-savvy users who don’t mind digging into menus and troubleshooting. But if you value intuitive design and seamless operation as a casual user, this device might be more frustrating than helpful. The readings on the scale were markedly inaccurate. Even syncing with my Samsung Health app produced incorrect readings, which I could quickly validate by checking the Samsung app and not the Withings. I am mystified; I can't understand why such a refined application and elegant hardware would produce such erroneous results.

Easy and Reliable Body Scan
I purchased the new Body Scan. I had an old version of the Body Cardio from about 9 years ago. It still works which means these things hold up over time. I could probably get 15 years out of the thing if I wanted to but I wanted the extra measurements and features of the Body Scan. If you’re not sure if it’s worth the premium price, keep this in mind. The Body Scan was easy to set up and has been working great so far. It integrated seamlessly into the app. It did take a while to figure out how to see all the data in the app since it’s not the best or most intuitive interface, some of it you have to dig for. The scale itself has been working reliably and I’m getting good and consistent measurements. No issues thus far and I’m really happy with it. It does everything it said it would and it does it without any hiccups unlike what some of the other reviews say. Keep it up Withings.

Well…it looks nice.
As others have said, there are issues with the device. Out of the box: it’s great. But over the course of about 4 months the segmented measurements began to have issues. I would clean the device to no avail. Now: that aspect just doesn’t work. Additionally the measurements are a bit dodgy as they flutter about if you take multiple measurements within a few minutes. However the deal breaker for me is what just happened. After taking the basic measurements (again without the segmented analysis) i noticed that in the app all my data from the first 3 months were gone. There’s an option to save your data to a spreadsheet but you have to do that manually. So we come to the app…it of course wants to SELL YOU A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE ($10/month). This memory loss might be by design. I still give the design a plus. But otherwise the experience with this device has been frustrating and now with the memory loss infuriating. The expectation that there is a non-medical level device that could record your metrics is an illusion. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

Great Upgrade
I love my Withings items & I was happy to upgrade my old scale with this Body Scan. It is a heavy solid piece & the white color goes well with its location in my home. It was easy to learn & I step on every morning to stay on-track with my health & fitness goals. There are no issues connecting with other Withings items in the app & data tracks seamlessly to website also.

Worst software and hardware I’ve seen in years.
Worst hardware and software I’ve seen in years. They just can’t keep the device reliability connected - customer support is useless. You will have multiple accounts with your health data split across accounts. They can’t merge them. The AI is disconnected from support. Complete disaster. Oh and forget about the UX/UI. The app does not behave logically. Don’t buy this scale.

Great scale but ECG set up not possible
Product is good, However, it’s delivered by Amazon us and set up for ECG is problematic as it’s for US locations only (still not able to use it even though I bought the scale for this particular feature).

Data-Driven, Deadly Accurate, and Weirdly Addictive
Slick design, and it tells you everything—weight, body fat, muscle mass, even heart rate and nerve activity. Links straight to your phone. Great for tracking fitness goals or, let’s be honest, feeling smug after leg day.

Inaccurate waste of time especially for Body Composition - DO NOT BUY
Stay away from this scale. I am a long term customer of Withings (Body Comp Scale), having enjoyed it, including what their mobile app had to offer. I purchased the ‘Body Scan’ hoping to get more detailed insight on Body Composition but the results have proven to be inaccurate (consistently) and no where near results from my previous scale or professionally measured results with my Dietition. As an example, i would get 4 different fat percentages in 4 weigh-ins within 4 minutes. Withings support came back saying, to paraphrase: 1) Go read our comprehensive articles on why your result (greatly) varies 2) you are using it wrong (not standing/leaning/holding correctly) As an aspiring athletic using this daily, i refuse to be ‘weighed-down’ if the accuracy requires my focus and exact precision to use the device. I will be reverting to my Body Comp scale and go externally to get professional consults when i required more detailed segmental analysis.

Integration with Whoop and Apple Health makes it convenient
I switched from Hume to this and the weight and body composition metrics seem more accurate when comparing the two to other devices. Also it integrates with Whoop, not just Apple Health.
