Truck Tool Box Lock with Keys - Replacement Pickup Toolbox Lock Cylinder for Latch (1 Pack)

Lock is a perfect replacement for the toolbox on the back of my pickup. The old lock on it wouldn't turn with the key anymore, so I had to take off the bolt and pull the old unit out. This unit slid right on with no issues and has worked flawlessly. I can pull on the lid of my box like a possessed chimpanzee, and it doesn't move at all. The key moves the lock with little resistance, locking and unlocking as intended, with no problem. Feels sturdy, easily worth the value for the price. Easy to install. Would definitely buy it again.

Perfect fit for the latch on a 24 year old Challenger pickup truck tool box. This went right on in place of the original and only took a couple minutes to install. I didn’t have the key to the original cylinder. It was a CH-509. These came with a CH-501 key. I looked around and a new pair of keys was only about half the cost elsewhere but I couldn’t find free shipping so it would have cost about the same price as replacing the whole cylinder with a new set of keys with free Amazon Prime shipping. If you have this style lock, you are no doubt aware this is by no means high security. It will deter the casual fool from perusing your belongings when no one is looking, but anyone with determination and some simple brute force can easily over power this. It was not intended to hold up to that type of assault.

Not as solid, or well made, as I would have liked, compared to the original. But for less than the cost of having a key made it was a good solution.

Used this as a replacement lock for my truck box. It works as advertised but be cautious as I had to grind/shave down the locking mechanism to fit my specific truck box model. Installation is easy and simple.

Great lock and perfect replacement for my pickup truck's UWS toolbox. The lock cylinder DOES have flat sides on either side, which perfectly matched the flat-circle shaped opening in my toolbox. The description and photos did not clearly show this, so I attached a photo that does. That design holds the cylinder in place and keeps it from turning without the key. Cylinder locks sold at hardware stores (intended for drawer/cabinet use) are usually complete circles and also didn't have correct-length inner rods to matched the latch mechanism of my toolbox. Very pleased to have a secure toolbox again!
