Really compact. Decent sound. Hardwired speaker cabling could be longer
It's not that bad of a system. I didn't expect room shaking sound, but it sounds decent for a $65 system. Could use a little more bass, but the speakers would probably burst. It does have individual bass and treble controls. I have it sitting on my nightstand which isn't the best location due to the bright blue LCD display. I have to place electrical tape over it at night to shut out the light. It has a dimmer control, but doesn't dim enough All features work including pairing with BT on my phone. Some reviewers stated the system died after a month - I purchased a warranty for $6.99 which guarantees replacement just incase it does. As an "oldhead stereo connoisseur" I have had sounds systems costing thousands of $$$ more, so this system is def small potatoes. Being that, it is performing without issue and I hope it continues do so.

Died in 3 month - warranty costs money
Delivered 2023-07-19Return window closed 2023-08-18Defective Date 2023-09-26I was enjoying this unit plenty well. Then, I used the BT function. It paired with my phone and was good. I went back to the radio, still good. But now, it can play nothing but the radio. The CD appears to load up and play a CD, but no sound comes out, just mild static. I switch to BT, no sound, just static. The BT is definitely connected, as the stereo buttons will navigate the songs on the phone. I tried unplugging the device to see if that would 'reset' it. No luck.I look up the warranty:"Craig Electronics warrants this product to be free from manufacturing defects in materialand workmanship under normal use for a period of 180 days from date of purchase. Ifservice is required, please return the product to the store where it was purchased forexchange; or, pack the unit in the original packing material with all accessories ifapplicable, a copy of your sales receipt and a Cashier’s check or Money Order for $12 (tocover shipping and handling costs) payable to Craig Electronics Inc. For consumers inCanada, please make sure that the cashier check or money order is redeemable througha U.S. bank. Ship your product freight pre-paid. Your unit will be repaired, replaced or ifthe unit cannot be repaired or replaced, a refund will be forwarded to you within fourweeks of receipt of your unit."So, not only do I have to ship this back on my dime, I have to pay $12 to get them to honor the warranty.(seller: Newtech Products, LLChttps://www.amazon.com/sp?ie=UTF8&isAmazonFulfilled=1&seller=A3IOIJ9TWE065T)I'll have to investigate if my credit card offers a better extended warranty. I can also investigate what Newtech might be willing to do for the warranty.

You always keep asking
I bought it so that I could hear music in peace - no adds, no pop up, no intrusion. The sound is good

Good deal for the price.
Received the Magnavox MM435 Compact Shelf System on May 5th. It is compact, it will almost fit on my windowsill (I live in a house with larger window sills). It does come with a remote, however the remote only controls the DVD player (1 disc). I don’t use Blue Tooth, so that is a wasted feature for me. Due to the size of the unit all the buttons are very small, so I had to dig out my reading glasses to set it up. It does not have a sleep timer for the radio. The sound is very good, and this house does not get very good reception, however I had no trouble tuning in my favorite station. There is no way to program several stations at one time so if you need to change the station you need to turn the dial. For me not a big deal. The volume range is nice. I can turn it up enough to hear it throughout the house (1200 sf) and low enough to just have it in one room. I didn’t notice a headphone jack, so if you are using it in an office with other people you may encounter some issue. Over all this fit the bill I was looking for as far as a small radio for one room. For the price it is a pretty good deal.
