These wine glasses were a great purchase, not only were they durable but the stems held up nicely. They also look very nice. Perfect size for a glass of red wine! I would purchase these again for either myself or as a gift.The price was fair.

These handblown glasses come in at about the same price as the Vivant glasses from Riedel. They are just a smidge taller, and the top opening is slightly narrower; the top of this will just barely fit into the opening of the Riedel. Since I broke all my Vinum Pinot glasses, I can’t do a direct comparison, but the Vivant size and shape are nearly identical with the Vinum, but with a thicker, less elegant stem.Hi All this means that this set does not have any seams on the stem. Being handblown gets you the seamless feel, but also the possibility of less than perfect glass clarity. I haven’t closely scrutinized each of the four glasses, but the first does have an area where the crystal has a slight “smudge” causing a slight optical distortion. It looks like the seller is willing to replace flawed glasses. This is so slight, and will be obscured by a generous pour of wine, so I’ll just keep it. Speaking of generous, if so inclined, nearly an entire 750 ml bottle will fit in this glass. Some brands tout their proprietary crystal composition, one uses titanium for extra strength, and being dishwasher safe. This brand simply states their crystal is lead free. There is a slight rolled edge on the inner side of the lip, not enough to cause any drip when sipping or drinking.All of the glasses came covered in a slightly oily haze, which could be from the styrofoam-ish protective packaging. The one glass I hand washed up to do the review needed another wash or two. I use Dawn dish soap, which usually cuts through all sorts of grease and gunk, but not so with whatever this film is. It took a couple spritzes of ammonia containing window cleaner to get that last bit of fog off.My less than sommelier grade nose and taste buds cannot discern any difference between this glass and a Riedel in aroma or flavor from one of my last bottles of home fermented Pinot noir juice from California. The yeast used gives it a nice spicy note along with red berries, and all that comes through in both glasses.
