Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 Turntable with Pick it MM EVO Cartridge (Satin Steel Blue)

The Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 would be an excellent addition to any audiophile’s entertainment system. The wood finish is solid, heavy, and extremely well made. The setup process was a breeze, especially if you have speakers with a built in phono pre-amp. The sound quality produced by the updated Ortofon/pro-ject cartridge is definitely a step up from the debut carbon evo. My one minor word of warning is that the anti-skate weight sometimes comes off of the tone arm if you accidentally touch it while changing records. This can definitely be fixed if you have more precise fingers than I do, by making a smaller and tighter loop that attaches to the tone arm, but for me it isn’t that big of an issue. Other than that, if you’re a fan of Pro-ject, or are just looking for a superb turntable, this is the one for you. You won’t be disappointed. I was torn between the new wine red or wood option, so that was the hardest part in deciding for me. I wound up going with the walnut option, but are stunning. Everyone that I have shown it to has now said they wanted to purchase one. Overall, excellent style, excellent sound, excellent turntable.

I bought the Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 and couldn't be happier with the purchase. I had the Fluance RT85, and the Evo 2 is a definite upgrade in quality. The Fluance was a good turntable which I enjoyed but the Evo 2 is simply engineered better ,and brings out the quality in my stereo system. I have a 2.1 setup and the separation and clarity from each speaker is clearly noticeable. It was also easy to set up (with the help of a You Tube video) and took about a half hour. The Satin Gray looks good and fits the look in my entertainment room. Kudos to Gramophone for the Black Friday deal!

Finally upgraded from the Debut Carbon Evo, which was moved to a smaller set up, and I could not be happier. The sound quality improvement was instantly noticeable and I am far from an audiophile. The cartridge is a huge improvement from the Sumiko and the instrument separation is night and day better. Took awhile to pull the trigger due to the price, but I have no regrets now! Set up takes 5 mins and you're up and running. If you're thinking about it, treat yourself!

I must be having a midlife crisis because I just woke up and decided I needed to start listening to records again. I chose a price range, below top of the line yet above entry level. Then I researched what’s available. I watched YouTube videos, I used AI and read everything I could find. I picked this because it won on quality and the company’s story made up for my it’s “made overseas” worries. Putting it together was straightforward, although setting the tonearm requires some patience. Back to YouTube for a video from someone other than the manufacturer (who doesn’t cover it in depth on their unboxing video). The music sounds great, I love chilling to the same artists I listen to as a teen. Now it’s time to build an album collection. There’s something about going through the motions of playing a record that makes it so much richer than using a mouse to click on a song.

Definitely recommend looking at another video or resource since the included manual can be confusing. But well worth the trouble and sounds amazing. Looks great and solid isolation. Would definitely get this when it’s on sale it’s the best value on the market right now. Way better build quality than the Fluance.

Install was easy with a YouTube video. Nothing but great things about it, sound is excellent and always gets compliments when I have people over.

Beautiful and minimalist turntable. However I've tried so many adjustments to get the sound right. Turntable is leveled, arm balanced and calibrated. 1.8 (18NM) grams of weight with the tracking string on the center notch. Believe me, I tried 1.0 to 1.5, 1.5 to 2.0 grams and string with all notches, even tested without tracking force. and nothing. It improved a little, but the High notes like Hi-hats and S or T on voices still sounds weird. Turntable is requiring constant tweeking to get it right. My audio technica no matter what i do it never sounds this weird. Now my return window is over and I HIGHLY believe i received a bad Stylus. For 800 bucks so far im pretty dissatiesfied with it.

Come tutte le cose che funzionano molto bene si può sempre migliorare con una testina cartuccia come la volete chiamare di livello superiore.
