Worked for a little over a month and then quit. It got extremely hot and even shut my phone off due to excessive heat. Now it won’t charge anymore

Case is a bad fit for IPhone 16 (6.1")!
The case does not completely fit the IPhone 16 (6.1") . It can't protect a phone adequately if it does not fit! Only part of top fits -- there is no complete closure of rubber around the phone!!
