This one is my daughters favorite. It is easy to understand and read for her level but not as simplified as some of the younger targeted ones. The illustrations are beautiful. A great addition to your science library.

Great science reference book.
I bought this book as a supplement for homeschooling. The science series I use references this book a lot. I find it very informative, lots of pictures and material for the students. I am glad I got this book. Very student oriented.

Seriously an amazing book! Love all of the DK books. Highly recommend if you want to study Nature with your children.

A bit disappointed actually
This encyclopedia covers just about ever animal ever known on this planet, but it is decidedly more interested in the more creepedy crawly inhabitants of our planet. I am wishing I got a more delightful encyclopedia.

I bought this for my son who loves all the details and information about each plant, animal, instect. He reads it everyday there is so much information and comes with very detailed and wonderful picture. A good investment for your knowledge of nature. I would recommend this to anyone.

bought it because i teach biology in english (in an austrian school) it covers many of the topics relevant to the curriculum for 11-14-year-olds, provides many pictures, yet still offers enough text to convey the most important infos and facts.
