Watercolor With Me

Had In The Forest and In The Ocean for a Christmas gift yesterday and I completed my first project today! I absolutely love them. Laid out beautifully and such lovely watercolour projects especially for a beginner like me who is also learning drawing / sketching for the first time. This really allows you to focus on the watercolour painting skills. Super excited to work through both books. Paper is maybe student quality but I’m happy enough with it and I think it would be way too heavy with a thicker paper.

This is a really beautiful book. Perfect for as I am learning to draw and watercolour. It's really helpful to have the colours listed for each sketch. Many reviewers are complaining that the paper in the book is poor quality for painting but I would never paint in the actual book so it's no issue for me. In fact, not painting in the book and retaining the original sketch leaves me something to copy from in the future. Hugely recommended 👌

As someone pretty new to painting I just love this book so much. It's so much easier to have pictures drawn on watercolour paper right in the book with the instructions. The drawings are so nice too. It's a great way to teach yourself how to paint. I'm shocked how quickly I'm Learning.

I love this book. It is easy to follow and gives satisfying results. The pictures are simplified, and if you wish you can paint on the pages in the book. Good quality watercolour paper gives great results if you do paint in the book.

The book and instructions are lovely but the paper isn’t very good, it instructs to use a fair bit of water for some colours to achieve their lightest and build them up but the paper comes apart and bits come off

Such a beautiful book. Far nicer than i even expected. Beautiful textured and illustrated cover and paper quality inside looks lovely and apt for painting straight into... from a novice point of view anyway. Can't wait to try.

I loved this book so much, it's not only well done in the explanations, with a lot of examples step by step but the book itself is also made with proper watercolours paper and it has the space for you to draw and paint. So it's more or less two in one: book and album!! I thought it was a very clever idea.

Unfortunately the quality of the paper is not very good. As soon as any water is introduced, the paper goes funny and shows these little speckles over my work. The more layers, the worse it gets. I’m having to trace all of the images onto better paper first. The contents of the book however, im really happy with so far. It’s just a shame about the paper quality as it has prevented me from using the book the way it was intended to be used.

Ich folge Dana Fox schon einige Zeit auf YouTube und weil mir dort ihre Tutorials so gut gefallen, habe ich mir nun dieses Buch bestellt. Das Buch ist in verschiedene Techniken, z.B. Nass in Nass, Fellstrukturen usw. eingeteilt, wobei auf der linken Seite direkt im Buch auf Aquarellpapier geübt werden kann. Ich kann dieses Buch nur empfehlen und werde mir mit Sicherheit auch noch die beiden Anderen Bücher von Dana bestellen.

Love this book!!! I can’t remember the last time that I was so excited about a book. I have just done the first page and I can’t wait to master the entire book. I love that this book is made out of watercolour paper so that you can actually work on the opposite page with her instructions. I think the instructions could be a little bit more in detail for beginners, but I am already an artist so it was very easy for me to follow. I purchased this book as a daily journal to keep practising something. And it is also a great way to refresh some skills that you may not be using on a daily basis. Or maybe even learn a different technique to achieve a certain look. All in all, I love my new book! * I covered the instructions for copyright purposes.

While the book is gorgeous and full of exciting exercises, the paper is of poor quality and does not handle wet-on-wet washes at all. It pills and buckles badly on applying water. I'm really disappointed. I could try the exercises on my Watercolour paper but then what's the use of an expensive workbook? A wasted opportunity in a book of this kind.

Precioso libro con explicaciones sencillas para empezar a usar acuarelas. Lo que más me gustó fue que todas las ilustraciones usan una paleta de colores muy básica. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. Esta autora tiene un título nuevo similar pero ahora con tema de mar!
