Holding up well to being thrown everywhere!
My son loves this! I have been impressed with how well it has held up to him throwing it all over the house and yard. Lots of fun and seems well made.

Good, but store carefully
This was bought to use in Nerf wars. It is very functional, and works similarly to a real grenade. The mechanism, however, can be damaged if it is stored in the primed position, resulting in hinge damage, rod bending, and other failures. To avoid possible damage, store in the "exploded" position. On to the actual battle effectiveness. I was unable to fit full-length Nerf darts into the doors, so I recommend the purchase of Rival rounds to increase spread distance and kill percentage. You can fit two Rival rounds in each of the three sprung "launcher doors" depicted in the photos. However, the likelihood of a kill is pretty small. The grenade doesn't spread darts very effectively, unlike gas-powered Airsoft grenades. Very fun to use, but if you're looking for a supremely battle-effective Nerf weapon, this may not be your choice. However, when fitted with Nerf Hyper rounds, I think they will achieve a better spread. There is a "plug" at the bottom of the grenade which can be unscrewed, allowing it to be filled with Airsoft BBs or gel rounds even when primed. Overall, this item can be used with a variety of ammunition, but unless used with a smaller ammunition, there is no guarantee you will hit your target 100% of the time.

Nephew loved it.
very fun toy. Also a good prank product. Its quite durable. It has held up to being dropped on wood and concrete many times. Only dislike of the product is that it is a bit hard to reload. But its not that bad, and my 9 year old nephew was able to learn how pretty quickly. We had more fun filling it with snap pops than nerf balls though. Great product though.

Misleading photos
I bought this toy grenade as a gift for my son for his nerf collection. It seems sturdy enough as I tried it several times. It only holds 6 rival balls. It could be loaded with cut up pieces of broken darts which would be a good use for them instead of tossing in trash. The metal pin falls out easily and would be lost quickly in grass. My solution was to superglue a small round flat magnet near the pin on a flat surface. This keeps the pin in place and looks like it was meant to be there. I would also recommend adding a small highly visible tag to the pin ring to find it more easily if it is dropped. On the bottom of the grenade is a removable section that I assume (no instructions) is for filling the grenade however the diameter of the tree holes for the three compartments is only large enough for small objects, not rival balls, maybe water beads would fit. Confetti, rice crispy cereal, frozen peas would fit through these filler holes. It has plenty of smooth surface area to add cool vinyl stickers. Doesn't seem to be designed for nerf anything. It comes in a small box that is not taped shut so any modifications that you may do like pre-loading, magnet, ring tag, or stickers could be done before gifting.

Great shock value - makes a mess quick!
This was a GREAT shock and awe addition for our office nerf war. We cut up some cheap knock-off darts to fill it, and fit about 5 pieces of a dart (about 1/3-1/4 the length of a normal nerf elite dart) to fill the 3 cavities (15 total pieces). Your millage may vary on the dart dispersal, but it's always going to leave the room with pieces everywhere. Best if can land directly bottom down to give best spread, but hard to get it to land this way. Bottom does have a cap you can remove to fill grenade with BBs or Airsoft pellets, but I have not tried as that's a bit too hardcore for Office Nerf War. Worth noting the cap does tend to fall out quite often even when the great is not "exploding."

Fun to play with
Our son absolutely loves it. The grenade definitely works best with either gel or air soft pellets. It does work with Nerf bullets but it's much better with smaller ammo.

Not easy to use
My son was super excited to get this but it turned out to be a dud. It does not come with the bullets. I ordered the ones that it takes and it was extremely difficult to load. Once loaded and tossed it did not explode as expected and broke.
