White Lightning Clean Ride Lubricant

I'm one of these people who keeps their bike immaculate. If I'm going to spend close on £1k on a bike, then it's going to stay clean! Keeping the drivetrain clean was always a pain. I'd be out with brushes, WD40, degreaser, soapy water etc after every ride, then re-lube with regular (but decent!) bike oil. Just a couple of short rides later and it would all be black and grimey again. I saw this stuff, read the reviews, and had to give it a go. It's a wax based lubricant in a paraffin (or similar) suspension, so it drips onto your chain easily (no real waste if you're careful) and then the liquid evaporates and leaves a nice wax lube over everything - mostly clear, only shows as white in some areas where its thicker. It feels smoother to ride than ever before - quieter and shifting beautifully. But the best bit, you get home and the drivetrain still looks clean!It still picks up a bit of dirt of course, but no-where near as much as when using regular (sticky) oil. You do have to re-apply quite often - in my case i've found every 50 miles or so, but you don't need much and it's easily applied so it's no problem. This is my 2nd order of this stuff - 4oz bottle the first time and now 8oz - clearly i'm pleased with it!

I’ve used every bike chain lube there is and I keep coming back to this stuff. It’s amazing. Doesn’t pick up dirt at all and keeps the chain smooth as butter. It’s so good. Highly recommended.

This stuff is great, it lubes the chain & sheds dirt without making a mess, it’s a little messy when applying it, but once it’s dry it’s great

Well, you know what it is, and what it's for. I personally, do most of my riding off-road in dry conditions where wet oils soon clag up the chain, pulleys and cassette with a black abrasive paste. Chain wax such as this are intended for dry conditions and act by leaving a film of wax behind after a carrier solvent has dries off. They are also good at removing oily residue and grime by setting up as you lube the chain, wiping off with a rag to get rid of grime and grit. This comes in a large bottle, is very keenly priced, and is perfect for home use. Not ideal on a trail as the bottle is too large.

I admit to possibly being a little OCD with my chain, and this is an excellent item in keeping it clean. Shake the bottle and it flows on as a thin milk like liquid, gets everywhere, then dries white, like you applied tip ex to the chain. Spin the chain backwards a few times whilst holding a rag on the chain as it slips through your fingers. Job done. Go for a ride and be amazed at how clean the chain is after the ride. The white substance falls off taking with it dirt and grime. Rub the chain with an oily rag and thats it.

Brilliant product. Works best on a clean chain (I use a Park tool which negates the need to remove the chain from the bike). Once it's clean, along with the rest of the drive train, I apply this to both the top and bottom of the chain and leave it to dry. Works a treat, and completely silent running of my drivetrain.

Great stuff this...cleaned my chain, dripped this onto each link and span the pedals...hey presto...almost silent pedalling!

Perfect for easy maintenance with benefits of wax. Other wax options are tedious and require chain removal. This is perfect option if you ride in dry conditions and are sensible enough to follow the instructions. Recoat every few hundred km and it will be fine on your chain. It is not a apply once and forget about it solution. Not ideal for the wet/dirt conditions, but doesn't profess to either! Those that don’t like it didn't read the instructions. Excellent support from velogear as bottle had spilt in transit.

it leaves wax-like lubrication after the kerosene evaporates, so make sure the environment you will be riding before purchase

Das ist in meinen Augen das beste Schmiermittel für die Kette, welches ich je benutzt habe. Keine dreckigen Hosenbeine, da kein Fett oder Öl. Bei richtiger Anwendung ist die Kette immer gut geschmiert und der Dreck fällt einfach ab.
