LUVVITT Clear View iPhone X/XS Case for 5.8 inch Screen 2017-2018

I love the look of the least case possible on my iPhone. What I don't love is the look of an iPhone after it has been dropped in one of those cases: cracked screen, banged up aluminum or both. Not to mention the expensive repair bill. After seeing it happen to a couple of friends, I had to ask myself: am I really NEVER going to drop my iPhone? Hmmmmmm.... That launched my search for a minimalist case that still offered some real drop protection. Was this even possible? I decided to give the Luvvitt Clearview a try, based on all the positive reviews and its super reasonable price. After almost two months of daily use, tossed in my messenger bag, carried in my pockets or whatever, this case has exceeded all expectations. I have the clear and, visually, it comes pretty darn close to looking like no case at all. It lets all of the iPhone 5's design beauty come through, right down to the chamfer on the edges. The "Clearview" back, which is more of a rigid plastic, has superb clarity while remaining as scratch-free as I could have hoped, with no special care. All edges of the iPhone are protected by a softer TPU material, but the feel is firmer, sleeker and of much higher quality than silicone. There's a bit of grip to it, while still sliding in and out of jean pockets easily. The TPU wraps over the screen with a sculpted lip that you can barely see and feel, but it's enough to protect your iPhone in a drop. By comparion, I find the lip MUCH less intrusive than the one on Apple's iPhone "Bumpers." AFter two months, the TPU sides still look brand new--no yellowing, no dirt accumulation and total clarity. As if all this wasn't enough for the price, Luvvitt is also awesome about customer service! I bought a Luvvitt iPad skin that just didn't work out for me, and after one email, I had an immediate response and full refund the next day, no quesitons asked! I have been using (and been very happy with) a Tech 21 rubberized case for my iPhone since last year. While I have been very happy with that case, and it has helped my phone when I dropped it a couple of times on hard tile, the appearance of the case was a bit less than refined looking, and that case also added a fair amount of width to the phone due to its rubberized construction. Sometimes you want the phone to look a bit more refined and a bit smaller in format, and this Luvvitt case fits the bill on both counts. The case is a lovely way to provide some basic protection to the phone without adding much size or weight and to also let the actual design of the phone itself show through. The fully clear case here has a shiny look on front and back, and has a slight rubberized finish on the edges to help with gripping the phone when in use. I won't say that it might offer the same protection against drops that the Tech 21 rubberized case does, but it seems like it provides adequate protection, is smaller and lighter, and allows the design of the iPhone itself shine through. Five stars. Update at the 11-month mark Well, I've owned this case for almost one complete year, and it is has served its purpose admirably. I've had quite a number of drops of my phone directly on hard services, and, thus far, no breaks or damage to my phone. So, I've been happy with this case from that respect, particularly since, when I first purchased it, it's relative thin design made me wonder how well it would work in this regard. However, and in alignment with what most everyone else says, at the 11th month mark, some yellowing has settled in, diminishing its shiny, new, almost crystalline appearance. It's not that bad, but it has taken on just a slight tinge of yellowness. Whether this has to do with interaction with the phone's materials or simply is just a function of the plastic material itself, I don't know, but at nearly the one year point, it has begun to be noticeable. However, I've been happy enough with the case, like its appearance and form, and because it is reasonably priced, I've purchased a new one to replace the original one. So, I can still give this case a very high recommendation, just as long as one realizes that the case will, in all likelihood, yellow in about a year's time.

Für mich die beste Hülle für das iPhone 5s! - Passt wie angegossen, auch mit einer Gorilla-Glas-Folie - Geht gerade bis über den Rand des Displays, schützt also auch die Ecken, wenn das Gerät mal auf den Boden fällt - Schlabbert nicht und sitzt fest, auch wenn man das iPhone aus der Hosentasche zieht - Fühlt sich griffig an - Unauffällig, beeinträchtigt nicht das Design - Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Meine erste LUVVITT Clearview ist jetzt nach etwa eineinhalb Jahren leicht vergilbt und verkratzt gewesen, daher habe ich mir eine neue bestellt. Sie vergilbte aber bei weitem nicht so früh und so stark, wie ich das bei Hüllen anderer Hersteller schon erlebt habe.

Le produit est très fidèle à la photographie de présentation, une coque transparente qui n'ajoute que peu d'épaisseur au téléphone. Le dos est en plastique rigide, les contours en silicone. La coque arrive avec deux films transparents à enlever ce qui évite de recevoir une coque toute rayée comme lors de mon précédent achat. Les boutons sont pour ma part parfaitement accessible, aucun soucis pour la connectique lightning. Parfaite pour garder l'esthétique de l'Iphone et anticiper les dégâts mineurs. Une étoile en moins parce que, comme je l'ai dis, je ne pense pas qu'il résistera à une grande chute. Il faut choisir entre garder l'esthétique du téléphone ou le protéger contre les chocs. Si vous préférez plutôt la seconde option, tournez-vous vers Otterbox...Pour la première, cette coque est parfaite.

I finally made the jump and purchased a new phone, the new iPhone SE to be exact. With such a big purchase, I wanted to ensure it didn't end up covered in scratches after the first week of use. I went with the Luvvitt Clearview case as I thought it would suit my needs best. I wanted something that mostly prevented against scratches, but could also protect against the unlikely phone drop. Pros: - Slim and clear. Keep the beautiful design of the iPhone at the forefront. - Doesn't affect portability. I bought an iPhone SE because I loved the size, why give this up with a bulky case?! - Offers good protection, mostly against scratching. Cons: - If you're the kind of person who's constantly dropping their phone on the ground, you may want to look elsewhere and consider a bulkier case. This is for people who are very careful with their phone and aren't doing extreme sports on the weekends. - No screen protector. I personally didn't want a screen protector as I've used them in the past and never had great experiences. They either ended up bubbly with air pockets trapped, or messed with the sensors on the phone. Bottom Line: This is a great phone for me. It fits exactly my needs, and if you think you handle electronics like myself, you'll be very happy with this case.
