Wool Collector's Edition: Book One of the Silo Series (Silo, 1)

The family and I got into watching the Silo TV series over Christmas. All the relatives got into the Apple TV series it is well done on Apple TV. Now the series is not completed but the book series is complete. So the family book club went into action and we read the entire book series because we have no patience to wait for the next TV season lol. Books are better and this book proves that in spades.

Beautiful indeed, but the “illustrations” are only on the inside covers of the hardcover and lead in page. Very nicely done, but not “illustrated” as the title will have you believe. I’m not deducting a star for this because it’s not the book’s or designers’ fault—just a bad title.The rest: nice paper on the pages, well bound and a nice dust jacket. I didn’t see where it was printed and bound, but overall quite nice for a collector.

It’s a beautiful edition with an easy to read font and nice binding. Can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released in the same format. It’s that good!

I've been wanting a physical copy of this book for a while, and the main draw for purchasing this particular product was its promise of being "fully illustrated."What's illustrated: the inside of the jacket; the front inside of the book cover; the back inside of the book cover.What's not illustrated: any actual page of the book.The listing is extremely misleading. I'm happy to have the book itself, and it seems to be in perfect condition (another reviewer mentioned thinness of the pages and I'd agree with that assessment, but it doesn't bother me). But I wouldn't have spent the extra money on this "collector's edition" if I knew what I was actually paying for. I would've been just as happy with the standard paperback for less than half the cost.

This is a really great book! I really enjoyed reading it.The collectors edition is very nice; well made and I like the colors used.

I was a little disappointed in the "collector edition" artwork claim; as the only artwork is on the inside cover pages. It still looks lovely as far as the book goes; but, not worth the additional pricing of the collector edition. Pages are thin and not quite the quality one would expect. Was considering buying the remaining two books as they become available but now may not as cost/quality comes into to play.

While the literary merits of this book is almost beyond criticism, this so called "Collector's Edition" is not. Or, to be more specific, the paper quality! Even some mass market paperbacks have better paper. It is coarse and fragile, the paper surface has almost hints of fuzz/fluff. It is semi-transparent, which makes it harder to read under some light conditions. All fine for a regular edition, well at least almost, but this is certainly not a collectable item.
