Waterproof Tailgate/Picnic Blanket with Handles (Navy)

While planning for an early spring trip to Seattle and a motorcycle race in Qwest Field, I realized we had great waterproof jackets, but nothing to keep our legs dry in case of rain during the event. I looked around for an inexpensive option and found this blanket. For the price I figured if it just worked for one use, I'd still be ahead. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, it is light weight enough to pack around, but still has a good feel and heft to it when in use. At the race, we were confronted with 40 degree breezy weather with some snow flurries! We tucked the blanket around our legs and were toasty warm. The waterproof side kept the wind out, and the fleece side kept the warmth in. After the race, the blanket easily rolled up and tucked into my backpack. I washed it once and it came out looking brand new. I know we'll get plenty of use out of this for many years to come.

Not waterproof at all

The fleece is soft, but this blanket is NOT fully waterproof! If you spill something on it, it soaks through. Also, the two layers are not attached so they separate and slip around.

This product is soft on the fleece side; it's small - doesn't stay over the back seat of a car and not really big enough for a comfortable picnic or reading in the park; might be fine for tailgating, but still seems small

I was looking for an affordable blanket for when I go outdoors. Saw this one and I have to say that after a few uses, I really like it. It is only made for 2 people, but I like the waterproof backside and the fact that you can fold it up and carry it out. It's a good blanket for the outdoors, washes easily and is easy to take with you.

(This is the same review for the Navy, Black, and Forest blankets. I'm not a bot - I just bought three of them and find them very useful.) The hardest thing about washing waterproof fabric items is drying them. Most of the time, the waterproofing traps the moisture vapor, but these dry very quickly. They are not terribly absorbent, so a spilled cup of water will not magically disappear. However, they are waterproof enough for most cases.

I is a nice blanket but way small I use mine for a bog blanket and I have a beagle and she barely fits on it

Have not had occasion to use this product as yet but it is nicely made. The size is just right for an intimate picnic and it is comfortable. The waterproofing on the underside should work nicely on damp ground. It folds neatly into a self-contained carrying case. I am satisfied with the product.
