The king of cyberpunk
Trilogy of thought provoking stories. The best cyberpunk there is, still visionary and relevant today.

Glad I saw a recommendation for this trilogy
The trilogy is worth the time, not an easy read I’ve needed to back track to find were I lost the plot. I don’t normally bother with reviews . Neuromancer sets the scene., i’ve just finished Count Zero I’m moving onto Mona Lisa. I’ve been enjoying them and if you like lots of different topics including sci-fi give them a go and if you like them try Sea of Rust. different author equally is good

Only got these recently but
About 50 pages in and I already enjoy the writing style and the world setting of Neuromancer. For the modern day wording doesn't seem too foreign, most of these terms have been floating around for years now and anyone consuming media should be familiar with them. You may want to look up words borrowed from Japanese, but I don't think it is necessary for understanding the plot. Whatever you need to understand is well explained by the author, everything else is just a flavour. I can see where Lana and Lily Wachowski got their inspiration from for their Matrix movies. Similarities can also be found in Ghost in the Shell (the original 90s anime).

Very detailed read
So far I have read a little of the first book. I have to admit I didn't expect it to be quite heavy to read and I have found it a little difficult to follow; however; this may be down to individual preference. I had initially written stating a heavy read but the book came highly recommended. I am perhaps going to pursue in the anticipation it may suddenly take a turn into something amazing and mind blowing, fingers crossed as I'm a huge fan of the matrix and sci-fi.

Absolute Classic
Please stop claiming that this series is "The Matrix". This is no video game or "book of the game" but an absolutely brilliant piece of writing done at a time when the net/ web was barely in its infancy. The idea of VR, AR, AI may have been a dream for a few others along with Gibson but not us mere mortals. Now we have them and that makes this series slightly scary! When you read them, do yourself a favour. In Neuromancer, let yourself just be absorbed in the words. There's not much of a narrative but it lets you learn the language for the next two. Are there "heroes and villains"? Not really. Forget the tags that are over-used, "utopian" or "distopian". It's different. Not Wells, not Lovecraft, not Dick. It's Gibson and is a one-off. Buy it, read it, enjoy it, love it. If you ever get marooned on that Desert Island, make this your choice. It's not a once only read. It will be some time before it becomes history - hopefully!
