Worth the price, comfortable to use and mostly hassle free set up and use.
(Something on Face Tracking at the end) Arrived brand new, still on the shrink wrap and everything, if you're seeing you controllers have this white patina or residue on the rubber under side, that's normal and it's just from sitting on box for long time, it will rub off as soon as you start using them. Controller tracking and Hand tracking worked perfectly for me, even on a dimly lit room with just a little jitter and rotation issues. The way the headset sit on your head its weird at first, even more so if you're used to straps like the Vive Pro head strap and Valve Index but nothing you won't get used to, plus the adjusting controls give you a lot of freedom to have it hug your head the right way. Battery life while not horrendous like others have mentioned, it does leave a bit to be desired but at least the charging dock makes up for it, it charges surprisingly fast if you use the included cables or any other high quality charging cable. Unfortunately, it seems that Nvidia broke something on their most recent drivers and trying to use the headset on Link mode just grinds your PC to a Halt, can be solved by rolling back the drivers to a stable version but honestly, Steam Link was so painless and just worked with minimal set up compared to the Link cable that you might as well just get the link cable to charge it while you play using Steam Link. It does feel like a premium headset, I say for me I got my money's worth in terms of price vs quality. The build, the materials, the unboxing. It felt like I paid and got for that premium. I had no issues with controller and Face Tracking after the right set up, if you have issues after some use, please note that sweat will kill the lower and sometimes the whole face tracking module. It is not recommended that you wear this headset for high intensity VR games and that you keep yourself cool while wearing it.

Lotsa lemons? Mine was good.
UPDATE ABOUT TRACKING: I encountered my first tracking hiccup in the quest version of VR chat. But I believe it to be a software problem with the game and not an issue with the hardware. My avatar’s hands became locked in an awkward position in the FISH! World/game. HOWEVER, looking at your left palm in that world brings up a number of stats and I lifted my palm and the stats were still perfectly tracking my controller. I opened the home menu and it knew exactly where my controllers were. I went back to VRChat and the hands locked in a different awkward way. Still tracked my stats on my hand just fine. I think the tracking hardware is fine but there are some software issues with certain quest native apps. I have not encountered the same issue on the PC version of VRChat or any PCVR games really. So I am doubling down and still saying this headset has the best tracking I’ve used in VR. Maybe its processor is a little dated for VRChat on quest though. I see a lot of reviewers saying their headset came broken or used or that updates break the tracking. After reading those reviews I decided that if I opened the Amazon box and there was no shrink wrap, I was gonna send it right back. To my relief; brand new unit. Sealed. Had to update like 4 times to catch up to current and each time it updated the controllers I was nervous, but my experience (Maestro, Beat Saber, VRChat) has been very positive. I must have gotten lucky cause I also see reviews complaining about the tracking, and having used every Quest from 1-3, Pico 4 and 4 Pro, and Galaxy XR, these have the best tracking I’ve ever used. I stood in front of a VRChat mirror and put the controllers behind my back, and they still knew exactly where they were. Expert + Beatsaber is completely doable too. No loss of tracking. The resolution is low compared to modern headsets but when I use it for PCVR through Steam Link it still looks very crisp and clear (my PC’s GPU is a laptop RTX 5070)

Incredible face tracking, terrible controller tracking
Okay, so I'm coming at this from the view of someone who's had both Q2 and Q3 and I can tell you there are pros and cons to this headset in comparison. Let's get the rather egregious negatives out of the way: this thing has AWFUL controller tracking, which is a serious shame considering that it has 360 degree tracking ON the controllers. I have only had it for maybe 2 weeks now and I can't tell you how many times I've looked down at my "hand" in game only for it to not be where it's supposed to be. They drift into weird places and take a bit to find themselves. Now, I use this thing primarily for VRChat, which is what I got it for. I will tell you the resolution is a downgrade when compared to the Q3. The pancake lenses are still nice, but the resolution is noticeably less than the 3, but considering that the 3 came after, that's not really a surprise. If you're into full immersion in your games, the light leak from this thing is really a drawback, as the lower part of the facial interface isn't even trying to block out light. And when you're using the face tracking, this thing gets HOT, which can be really bad because you do NOT want to sweat into this thing. Now let's talk about the pros, shall we? I mentioned face tracking and lemme tell ya, this FT is good. I used Babbel and EyetrackVR on my old Q3 and they don't even hold a candle to the accuracy on this thing. The Pro captures EVERY eye movement and expression and it's magical. It's the primary reason I got it and it's really something else. The presentation of the Pro is also really nice. It comes in a pretty well-thought-out box, though you're gonna have to explore every nook and cranny to find all the stuff you need. The charging dock is a really nice touch and the magnetic plates on the controllers makes it pretty easy to align them on it. The battery life is decent enough for a couple of hours of fun and overall it's decently comfortable enough to wear for long periods, though a caveat of this is that the headstrap is integrated into the structure of the headset, so it's a rigid piece instead of the moveable strap of the others in the Quest lineup. It is adjustable, but only to change the overall size of the band to fit around your head. The headset isn't all that heavy and the weight is distributed a lot better than the other headsets I've had from Meta since the battery is in the back of the headset instead of in the front, meaning that while the overall weight isn't much different, the headset FEELs more comfortable to wear and move in because not all the weight is focused on the front of your head. I haven't really tested the standalone performance as I play PCVR exclusively, but it seems to work decently enough doing that. I do use it wirelessly, relying on Virtual Desktop to connect to my PC and while there were some teething issues, the foveated streaming option in VD that takes advantage of the QPro's eye tracking is a really nice touch. Overall, if you're getting this thing for what most people in the VR space seem to want it for (the face tracking), it's honestly pretty great. The controller tracking and the fact that this thing gets really hot using FT are more than bearable. If you're just out for a good headset for regular VR gaming, maybe skip this one. The 3 has better resolution, the controllers are more consistent even if the tracking isn't 360 degrees and the accessory lineup for it is so much better. In my eyes, this thing was more than worth what I paid just in being able to express myself better in VRchat and I've had a TON of fun using it. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Great headset for $500
Amazing headset, bought it for the gaming value on vrchat, but it really was a great productivity headset aswell, outside the pain of it resting on your forehead leading to headaches after a long time, it is a great headset, great lens, and amazing controllers (if they dont lose tracking randomly), but for $500 it really does do well. Overall a great 4.5/5 stars but rating it a 5 cause I like rounding up.

A terrible product by a terrible company.
Best on the market. Still manages to be the worst hardware on the market by META's forcing of HORRIBLE updates and QPRO Controller's having flawed design with no revisions to the sticks.

Better value now that MSRP is down
I bought this for VRC in a face tracking and eye tracking has worked really well. It works better than my PC which now forces me to upgrade. The cost is a little high. I’m still paying it off, but I’d still say it was worth it because I got it at a better price than the retail release price.

scammed up unfortunately
The headset itself isn’t bad: nice visuals, wide lenses, light weighted, and all that. But I received a defective set with a left controller that doesn’t work properly. I had to contact Meta support and explain the situation—that the headset wasn’t even two days old and was already unplayable. Then came a couple of days of back-and-forth with support, initiating the return, waiting for the return approval, and now I’m at the stage of waiting for a replacement. From the bitter experience of other “lucky” owners of this headset, there’s information that a replacement might not happen if it’s not in stock. And that raises the question: “Where would it even come from if the headset is no longer being produced?” So the only option is to wait for someone else’s defective controller (hopefully repaired). Some people waited more than 70 days for their replacement. I’ve been waiting for 10 days so far, and of course, since the moment of purchase, the headset has just been sitting on a shelf. That’s insanely frustrating—spending $700 just to watch a nice headset slowly collect dust… Yeah. The headset isn’t bad, but the situation is just completely f**d up. When buying this headset, keep in mind that the product is no longer fully supported, which carries significant risks.
