Matthew
I only purchased it because I'm a huge fan of Matthew MacFadyen. I was trying to purchase everything he was in but my favorite thus far is Pride & Prejudice.

Well worth having
Riveting performances by Maxine Peake and Matthew Macfadyen, as well as the supporting cast. It is a dark story of abuse but also of a resilient character. I bought this because I'm a huge Matthew Macfadyen fan. ... this story is worth having whether you are a fan or not.

Scary and terrific.
"I loved this!" isn't quite what I want to say but I recommend it wholeheartedly. It's excellent. It is very very concise, tense and beautifully written; and Matthew Macfadyen and Eddie Marsan are absolutely brilliant in EVERYTHING they appear in. Strongly recommended. Now I should look at 'Criminal Justice I'!

Painfully slow, many disappointments
I thought this follow-up to the first series of Criminal Justice was incredibly weak. In an age when criminal procedure is being depicted more and more realistically in television and movies, this series offered a bizarrely implausible and even childish depiction of a criminal case. There are more courtroom surprises and witness-stand confessions than in an entire season of the old Perry Mason show. And though clearly shocking to the fictional attorneys and jurors, some of these revelations will produce little more than yawns from most viewers, who will have seen them coming. The pacing was also incredibly slow. At times I would fast forward 30 seconds because nothing seemed to be happening. I often found that I wasn't even missing any dialogue. Slow, lingering camera shots seem to take up about 20% of this series. And then, after all the excruciating delays, the series manages to leave a number of loose ends.At two or three episodes in length, this might have been a decent show. The weak plot and script cannot support more than that.

Not Very Good
Seriously? Jack surmises, after meeting Juliet for about 30 seconds, that she is clearly an abused woman. The entire basis for her defense turned out to be a sex act? It was stupid and lazy writing.

Criminal Justice 2.
Criminal Justice 2, is the second season of this series and is good, but not as good as season 1. It is an interesting watch nonetheless, as it follows a Barrister, standing up in court to protect her client, who has murdered her husband. She says he subjected her to violence in the home, Domestic and sexual, but can it be proven in a court of law. It is a good show to watch, but definitely has adult themes and is NOT suitable for children to watch. It’s a UK show, and well acted and directed. I enjoyed it and hope you do too. Enjoy.

Intense
Fantastic gritty british series. BAFTA Award winning acting. Not to be missed! It does not have english subtitles but that does not seem to be a problem with this set.
