Electronic Servo Controlled Bypass Heater Valve Kit fits 5/8" Heater Hose #50-1555

I was concerned that the product was made out of plastic but when I received it I found that the construction was quite solid. I used this product as a work around for having to take apart me entire HVAC enclosure in my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.6L Diesel Truck. Taking apart my HVAC unit would have required a complete dash board removal! This product has work with fantastic results ever since. I highly recommend this product !

I recommend this to all Chevy square body (73-87) trucks without A/C. As many of your know, when the temp is set all the way to COLD, it will still blow heat on a hot summer day when you don't need it. This fixes the problem. Some people install manual valves in the heater hoses, but you can't because the engine has to have a continuous loop in that circuit or it will overheat. This valve will bypass the heater core and route the coolant back to the engine to facilitate the continuous loop when set to cool. Works great! Highly recommended.

Just what was needed for the aftermarket ac/hetater install for the Ls engine

A really great idea to solve the "always on" heater core issue in some older GM vehicles. Unfortunately, this product is made of plastic and is manufactured in China . Nothing about this product looks anything like what I would classify as a quality product that would give years of trouble-free service. I will definitely NOT be installing this inferior product on my K5 Blazer, I will instead install a less convenient, manual, brass, heater core bypass valve and save myself from an inevitable roadside or off-road valve failure miles from home.

Worked perfectly, keeps hot water out of my heater ecore, keeps water circulating to my water pump and allows my AC to cool better. Ls1 swapped 1985 IROC-Z.

Purchased this item to install on my 72 nova with a 5.3 ls. After my vintage air install I desperately needed a way to provide the return heater flow constant coolant. The vintage air heater control valve blocked flow with the ac on not allowing my thermostat to open. Felt this was the answer after hours of research. Upon recieving I ran a dry test to confirm operation of the unit. After confirming the valve operated correctly, i Installed it. Three start ups later the Valve stuck closed in Bypass mode not allowing coolant into heater core. Unit would be better with a way to confirm position of the valve from outside the unit, a manual overide, and troubleshooting instructions.
