This Advent Calendar is so cute. It comes in an attractive box with a whole month of little attractive boxes.We however did not use this exactly as intended. I got it before Thanksgiving so that it would occupy my family before and after 'the big meal'.MY THOUGHTS and OBSERVATIONS=============================- PLEASE Note that this is NOT a project for little children. Almost all the pieces are choking hazards!!- This is NOT a project for people with arthritis or anyone who has difficulty manipulating small pieces. There are many, many small pieces.- For the first round, we all set down together and got two boxes each to assemble. It took over an hour but we had a lot of fun. Let me say again that those who don't mind instructions and who are more engineering minded will do the best.- Each box has little bags of parts and a set of instructions. The instructions are visual, not written, and in color.- The instruction pages are not that large and sometimes it takes some thought to figure out what they are showing. More than once we needed to back up a bit and replace pieces.- It might make sense to glue as you go. I can't imagine ever being able to reassemble this project and then put it back together again without the parts being pre-sorted.- Cute as heck.- Sometimes hard to get the parts together.- Perfect size for a decoration for hearth or table.We cursed, we laughed and we had a lot of fun. I've already bought one for a family friend who isn't going to be here this year for Thanksgiving for them to enjoy.

This block allows my family to participate in the building process together and is full of Christmas spirit. The built Christmas tree was beautiful.I love this countdown calendar.
