Absolute game changer for anyone with occipital neuralgia and is having surgery, like I will be.This requires me to recover on my back for a couple weeks.I CANNOT sleep on my back without getting an occipital headache, which make migraines seem like a day at the spa.I searched and searched and came across this pillow. Pessimistically, I thought I'd give it a try.OMG I'm shocked!!! This is absolutely perfect because it doesn't touch my occipital nerves, AT ALL.I'm even going to use it during surgery, so laying on an operating table for five hours won't cause an occipital headache, on top of everything else.Post-op, I'll be elevated with this pillow on a wedge pillow, keeping all pressure off those nerves.This is a lifesaver because I only have to deal with post surgical pain, instead of that AND occipital headaches.***For those with occipital neuralgia:I tried to see if I could use this while laying flat on my back without and with my regular pillow. Unfortunately, that's not comfortable on my neck. I'm a small person, though. It seems like that might work for a guy.But, this is amazing to use while laying on a memory foam wedge.(Occipital headaches are on the outside of the skull. Caused by damaged occipital nerves, usually from a car accident. Pressure on these nerves can affect all muscles outside the skull. The headaches start at the back-base of the skull, and radiate forward. For me, once it becomes bilateral across my forehead, that's what I call "the point of no return".)

Was hoping this pillow was going to work for me. I need to lay face down in bed for 10 minutes for treatment, however, the cushion is so soft that the weight of the head (not a heavy person - 5'3" 135lbs) will make the nose touch the bed making it hard to breath. If you are planning on using it face up, maybe it will work, but again, I need it face down. If they make the pillow 2-3" thicker I am sure it will work.

I'm delighted with this pillow. I bought it because I spend a lot of time lying face down for work and it has really made a big difference. If this had 2” more foam into the heigh it might just scratch by without having issues, the other issue is the face opening is to wide allowing majority of peoples face to just sink through it having there nose press into the ground below. It most effective on a flat surface like a yoga mat or a very firm bed if you must. just keep in mind before buying.Side Thoughts: I did a test i had a unused pillow made of the same exact foam used in this face pillow and traced the pillows button shape and cut it out of my old pillow then added this to the face pillow to give it more resposive resistence to see if my face would still sink. results were simply it did help but only very slightly, its usable now, but would be better if the company address this issue before hand as the weigh of the human head drastically differs to each person so if you have a face small face and had this would be ideal for you, if you any bigger then most likely will not and your nose will press into the ground. Thats the major issue with these asian made products they are made for their body types and faces and assume it works for everyone. its just lazy product development and research to ensure it works for everyone. hope this helps.
