Forest Shuffle Woodland Edge Expansion

This expansion is a lot of fun. I can't decide if I like it or Alpine better so I got both. Either one of them adds a lot of balancing to the base game. However, I think it is most fun if you use all three of them. The base game itself is too unbalanced so either one of these expansions is essential and both make the game so much more balanced, versatile, unpredictable and give it tons of longevity. Fun game with great art and makes you think. Once, you learn the combos and scoring you don't have to think about each game too much though so it's not that heavy of a game.

Love this game! The mechanics are simple to understand and easy to play, but so many different strategies you can play to win. My families new favorite…we all had to have one!!

We love this game. It is a good game to play on a week night if you don't want something heavy and strategic. The cards are beautiful and the expansions mix in well.

This expansion may only have a handful of cards, 36 to be exact, but they pack a fistful of fun! It was such a blast adding them to the game, and we were genuinely shocked at how much of a difference they made. The gameplay feels fresh and even more exciting now. We’re already itching to grab the Alpine expansion next, and that’s where my only gripe comes in. Some of the cards in this expansion play off the ones in Alpine, so it feels like you kind of need both to get the full experience. I really wish they had been sold as a set rather than separately. That said, this expansion has been an absolute joy to play with, and we can’t wait to see how it all comes together when Alpine is added to the mix. Highly recommended for anyone looking to amp up their game!

A great addition to the base game. It adds a new card type but no new mechanics, so it's easy to integrate without learning new rules. It balances some of the sets for point potential, so the clear runaway strategies from the base game aren't as bad.

Makes Forest Shuffle more balanced than the basic version. Especially when used in conjunction with the 'Alpine' extension.

Especially in a 2-player (1 v 1) context, the Woodland Edge cards do really well in balancing the asymmetry between one player who may luck out on drawing out deer/wolves and another who may not. There are more viable pathways than Alpine (which feels more linear). I find combining both expansions somewhat interesting for pure novelty's sake, but to be honest my favourite way to experience Forest Shuffle is with Woodland Edge. I do occasionally play Alpine as well, but just to keep things fresh and change it up.
