Good thermometer
Happy with this thermometer, almost wish I got the four chanell model. Included thermocouples are pretty cheesy, but accurate. I use it with some fluke pipeclamp probes and it works reliably. Wish it had a magnetic back to allow it to stick to condensing units ( I'm an hvac tech) so it gets used a lot! I'd definitely get this item again, the seller shipped fast. 6 months later and it's still working well...TECH NOTE: I bought this for AC, and heating work along with a pair of Fluke 80PK-8 Type K Thermocouple Pipe Clamp Temperature Probes). This combonation works really well, (wish I got the 4 chanel UEI). I did notice one phenomenon that I would like to share, when the system you are testing is conductive, and you use both probes ( I use the fluke clamp probes) (boiler supply/return, or ac suction/discharge), you will see a weird ofset in the teperatures when they are both connected. I have gotten arount this with a layer of teflon tape under one of the probes(around the pipe). The teflon is thin enough to transfer the heat well and insulating enough(electrically) to prevent the weird offset effect.

worth it so far
So far it's good used it couple of times still getting used to all the functions not so easy to lookup thru the menus and settings but worth the price for what it can do compared to some overpriced ones

Nice meter
This is my second one in 9 years of field service. Life is hard in a service truck.. Nice display and accurate readings.

software
The meter seems to work well but the software is for windows xp and vista. strange that a meter that has a 5 year warranty has software for an antique os. It worked on windows 7 32bit but not on 64 bit windows 7. My 10 computers are 64 bit no go don't have 32 bit 10. Tried to contact uei and cant get answer to are you going to update software to windows 10. Lucky I still have a couple xp computers hanging around. I got the software to work on a virtual pc (oracle with xp installed)

Nice meter for the price
Has all of the features that you would expect from an expensive meter. I haven’t tested the USB logging, but for older software, I typically run an older version of Windows in a virtual machine anyway. Get yourself a copy of Windows 7 and install it in VirtualBox.

Works well but have to jump through some hoops to make the PC software run in Windows 8.1 64 bit.
The temperature meter seems to work pretty good. I wanted it because I needed four channels and I also wanted some way to save the data to the PC and view it live if needed. The software that they have is pretty old, you probably have already read about that but it does work under Win8.1 64 bit. They use a Microchip brand device inside the meter for the USB communications and you will need to go download the latest version of mchpcdc.inf driver, just search for it and you can find an installer. You can't just install this driver directly because its old also and not signed. So, go search for installing unsigned drivers in Windows 8.1 and follow the directions. Now that you have the driver installed plug the temp probe into the PC's USB port. It will recognize it as a COM port. I had to tell Windows to use the driver I just installed by manually pointing to it. Now it all works. If you just want a plug and play its not going to be quite that easy with new Windows versions but it does work.

IT APPEARS TO MAINTAIN ACCURACY AND IS OF STURDY DESIGN WITCH IS A PLUS FOR ROUGH ENVIRONMENTS
I AM NEW IN MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PARTICULAR DUAL TEMP METER. IT APPEARS TO MAINTAIN ACCURACY AND IS OF STURDY DESIGN WITCH IS A PLUS FOR ROUGH ENVIRONMENTS. I RECOMMEND THIS FOR BOTH HOT AND COLD SIDE TECHS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE THERMOCOUPLES THAT COME WITH THE PRODUCT. HOTSIDE TEMP MEASUREMENT WOULD REQUIRE A MORE TEMPERATURE WORTHY THERMOCOUPLE. THE METER ITSELF IS A DEFINITE PLUS.
