Worth every pen and stands out miles above the rest.
I am a pen junky, I use mostly Montblanc, Xezo, Montegrappa, or Marlen for example. My 11 year old daughter is always asking to use them to learn how to write with fountain pens these are more for daily writing and not calligraphy. They are all extremely expensive averaging around 1000.00 per pen so of course I tell her they are too expensive to learn on. We bought several calligraphy kits for her and I was very disappointed in the quality of them. They don't hold ink, streak, the nibs are horrible and simply a waste of money. Out of 3 different kits we sent them all back and bought this one. I have been writing with fountain pens for more than 20 years and have never run across the problems we had with the 1st 3. I learned you have to be very careful on buying pens like this that are under $100.00. However, this kit is amazing at about 50.00. It writes as good as my special addition Xezo which is my smoothest writer and that one is over 800.00. So, needless to say I was very impressed. The nib we first tried was the broad and it was super smooth. There was no streaks, excessive ink release, or catching. It moved like it was on ice. That's extremely impressive for a non-gold tip nib. The calligraphy was very easily doable which makes it easy for her to learn with. The pen itself appears to be made of a high quality resin and has some weight to it. As a matter of fact I knew it was a good kit as soon as I picked up the case. It has some good weight to it and was well made. The nibs are very well made and hold ink well without leaking or getting your fingers full of excessive ink. The ink converter is smooth, holds the ink well and has a great fit on the pen so it won't come off in the pen leaking ink everywhere. After 4 different kits we found the only one that worked and it's this maker. If you're trying to learn don't buy one that looks cool or is cheaply priced, it's just going to frustrate you making you want to quit. These pens should write better than any pen you have used making writing a pleasure. Invest in a decent set so you can enjoy the art and this one is great for beginners.

Writes smoothly
Love, love, love this fountain pen. It writes smoothly and ink does not bleed through the paper. Definitely recommend.

Not Bad, Not Bad at All.
I've been a calligrapher since 1968 and I've used many different fountain pens and Speedball-type pens with India ink. In recent years I've found that most of the fountain pen style calligraphy pens are more of less toys, pure junk. THIS is not one of those. Wordsworth actually offers are pretty good quality pen at a decent price. If you want the convenience of a fountain pen for calligraphy, this is actually a pretty nice little set. Buy their ink cartridges if you want that convenience, you'll need them. The pen set included a bottle of ink and a converter. In all, it's a great set and value priced.

Elegant
VERY NICE set. I thought about giving a 3-star because the box, which I wanted to store the pen and heads in, was totally destroyed during shipping. It came in an AMAZON envelope and everything was out of the box, which was totally crushed. The pen set works fine so I'm giving a 5-star. I don't believe it's fair to blame the product for getting damaged in the mail.

Perfect for a student of calligraphy
This is a terrific "starter" set for a beginning calligraphy enthusiast like myself! A small selection of nibs (which is enough for a self-start learner as I am), ink cartridges are included, and I appreciated the ink converter being included!!! You can enjoy experimenting with different colours of ink and not be limited to what is available in cartridge format. All in all, I adore this set, and recommend it for any student of cursive writing!

Smooth
I love this set and the pens write so smooth. Better than another popular brand that starts with a L. I dont think those pens write as smoothly. I plan to purchase more from this brand.
