Review: all the detail you need with clear examples and great explanations - A critical, but rare skill, is to explain something complex in a simple way. I'm a data scientist and find this to give enough detail to understand it well, and enough explanation to be accessible to people who are not data scientists. If you are wondering if this book will be worth your while, the answer is yes. Even if you don't have a power meter, but instead train the old fashioned way, the workouts explained, and the principles can be applied to improve your performance. Highly recommended. The workouts alone are worth the price. This is more geared for endurance athletes--I wish that it had more for track sprinters. It turns out that's really difficult training data to find. There is a bit here, but not nearly enough for what I would like. Review: Great book for people who are passionate about understanding training science - This book is excellent for grounding someone in the nuts and bolts of training science, and of course for gaining a much deeper understanding of how to benefit from a power meter. It's pretty clear that the work this author did has played a key role in shaping how serious cyclists all over the world are getting trained and coached.

Great book!
If you train with powermeter, buy this book. It's a great guide, with lot of charts, great explanations, examples and cientific references (is a learning book, not a physiology and physics treatise) well balanced with experience and different cyclist profiles. The workouts in the book are a great guide, pero I would like these to be based on the ilevels and not on the classic Coggan levels.

Informative
A bit too technical for my taste, however it did convince me not to get a power meter. I don't mean that in a derogatory manner. I think my skill level is not at a level where I would need to parse the data like the book suggests. I would think this book is designed for people that are seriously considering racing.

Essential for understanding the benefits of a Powermeter
I bought this book twice, once an older edition in German, and the latest third edition in English, when it came out. The book makes you understand, what zone training is and how to perform it with the help of your powermeter. The only thing it lacks is some deeper analysis of race biking, to my taste, there's a bit much on moutain biking, but that's not bad either.

Don't get a power meter with out this book!
It can get a little intense, but so is training. I'm going for my 1st power meter? I figured, before I spend the $$$, let's find out about how, what, and why, the money is being spent.$27, to fully utilize an amazing piece of traning equipment. Great Deal. DO NOT BUY A POWER METER WITHOUT THIS BOOK!

Revised edition is worth it
This is the go-to book for the subject of training with data, and the revised edition is a big improvement. If anyone is on the fence because they've already gone through previous editions, go ahead and get it.
