I liked it but broke within a year
After ten months the CD/DVD changer stopped working. Otherwise I would have liked this product.

It's Good For Startes, Has A Few Flaws
I have used this for a number of months and it has worked fine. I will start with what I like. For one, it has a five disc DVD changer, which is very nice. The upconvert works well and the HDMI out looks good on my 32" LCD HDTV. There are three things that I find problematic. One, there are only four inputs: headphone jack, USB port, RCA Left/Right, and TOSLINK optical. Before I got the HDTV, I didn't have enough inputs to cover my DVR (TOSLINK), Sirius Radio dock (RCA L/R), and Wii (RCA L/R). Thankfully, getting my TV solved this problem for me as the TV has TOSLINK out, so now I have the DVR and Wii going through the TV over TOSLINk. The second problem I have with it is the speaker volumes. It seems somewhat out of whack. The subwofer is much too strong for the rest of the speakers and the rear speakers seem quiet. I have the subwofer at -6 (as low as it goes), the center at +1 and the rear at +6 (as high as it goes). The front/rear balance is better, but the subwofer is still a little too strong. The final thing I notice frequently that I dislike is the way it handles music. When I use the Sirius Radio dock the rear speakers make really weird noises. It can be distracting.Overall, it's a really good first system and if you don't mind the inputs or don't plan playing music, this is a really good choice.

Price was right
I found this Samsung HTIB for the right price. It had all the features I was looking for at the time. First off the sound from the tv could be a louder and more full. The sound from movies is great! It upconverts regular dvds well. Simple hook up. One big complaint I have though is the av-sync...when I watch tv on my Samsung DLP for awhile it never fails that the audio will fall out of sync. I have tried to set the av-sync through the samsung system but it did not seem to help(hooked up via digital optical). Other then that this system does the trick. It sounds good overall and for the price its worth it. Not for your super serious sound buffs. I would recommend this product for someone that just wants a beginner level sound system with dvd player.

Home Theater System
This system is a great value for the price. Plenty of power and sounds great. The FM Tuner is a great option plus the front access to plug in your USB devices or your IPOD with the cable provided. Note that the Apple IPOD cannot use the USB connector but has to use the AUX 1 connector supplied and works great once I figured that out. I also bought the wireless rear speaker device which works great also. I also use the HDMI connection for the DVD player to my high definition TV and the picure and sound are excellent. Very pleased with this system.

would give it a ZERO if I could
Bought this home theatre system a little over a year ago, but used it for about 10 months (because i was finishing the room I used it in). After about 9 months of use the front display went out. Upon contacting Samsung, they told me it would be $160 to fix that. About 2 weeks later the entire unit stopped working. Unfortunately even though I had only used it for 10 months, since I bought it over a year ago Samsung said there was nothing they could do to replace it. $160 to fix a system that was used less than a year and I only paid about $250 to begin with. Don't waste your money on this overgrown paperweight!

Great at everything BUT....
This is a revised review which I would give this system 4.5/5. Previosly I stated that it would not play backup movies, but it turns out that my software need it an update, and now they work perfectly. The only drawback to this system in the lack of inputs. YOu might have to do like I did and buy a 3 input HDTV/optical switch to be able to use more that one optical input source. I highly recommend buying the wireless module for the rear surround speakers.

Amazing sound!
he sound is just amazing, I installed in an open place and I can listen the sound over all my house, very clearly. The only bad thing is the cables, but you can use wireless to plug your speakers.
