Mens Terrex Ax4 Gore-tex HikingSneaker

I spend a good amount of my time outdoors, and would consider myself a 'gear nerd'. I already have a pair of Adidas trail running shoes in my gear collection which are much more lightweight than these shoes. These shoes are much more heavy duty. If you are looking for a more roomy, robust hiking shoe that has a stiffer sole with heavy duty large lugs, you won't be disappointed. In my opinion these shoes are built to accommodate a thicker sock. I immediately replaced the insole the shoe came with, with an insole that has better arch support. This upgrade to the insole made this shoe feel much better on my feet. They are roomy but not too much. Overall, I'm very impressed, they fit well and are very, very comfortable. I bought a size 8 in blue and they look and feel very nice. You might also find that you like the insole the shoe came with. Overall, I'm very happy with these shoes and wouldn't hesitate wearing them on the most demanding terrain found anywhere and highly recommend.

I love this style of sneaker, but? The 1 negative is that both sneakers appear to have a small manufacturing defect. It appears that the midsole isn't glued properly to the insole and it doesn't meet up entirely, theres a small gap thats visible. Its a small issue in appearance and I hope that it doesn't cause a delamination issue later on, but water/ moisture could eventually become an issue. The positive: these sneakers are very comfortable, i wear a size 8.5 and they fit like a glove, these sneaks are cost-effective and have a great looking silhouette. If the insole holds up, and doesn't delaminate it will be a great set of sneaks to get me through this winter. I gave this pair 3 stars for now, if they hold up I'll bump it up to 4 stars, I can't attest to longevity so I'm being optimistic because I really want them to hold up. I don't see myself giving them a 5 because QC should have caught the laminating issue. Nonetheless, I will update this review accordingly should anything change or not. I made this purchase with my funds no freebies here. Hope this helps.

I work at a marina and campground in the mountains in Northern California. These shoes for hiking, mountain biking, and getting wet are the BEST shoes I have ever owned. In my multi roll use they have stood up, they get dirty and they get wet as I'm working on the boats or doing a rescue's on the lake. Comfortable, and fit well. If you work for national parks (park rangers etc) consider these. This 2025 season they have been beat up over and over (I bought 2 pairs to start and alternate). Throw them in the washing machine when I do my laundry of work clothes and just let them sit out and they dry they come back so fast and come back to normal. I have never had shoes I washed come back like these. Normally the shoe fits wrong or is warped. Don't put them in the dryer - you don't need to, they dry so fast in a hot garage, give them a few hours. Also, I have spilled all sorts of stuff on the shoes - It resists stains! I'm so impressed with these for my work environment I might buy 3-4 more pairs as a backup in the summer months. 10/10 - bar none if you work, camp, HIKE, bike or work in a shop these win.

I bought a pair of these, or similar to these, at Costco a few years ago for quite cheap it seemed, maybe less than $40? I forget, but I wore them so much the inside lining at the heel was sort of shredding so I looked for them on Amazon. Of course now they cost twice as much as I remember from Costco but I got a pair. For some reason, maybe supply/demand, the 12 wide was $20 less than the 12 regular so I thought I'd try the wide. My feet aren't particularly wide but I think these shoes may run a touch narrow. The 12 wide was just a little too wide for me and my heel would move and life when walking, even with slightly thicker socks. So I returned the 12 wide and went with the 12 regular, which seemed a better and more snug fit. In my old pair I put in a set of Super Feet insoles and they were super comfortable. The new ones have a removable insole I guess, I can tell they're glued down but they should come out easy enough. I haven't yet put the Super Feet insoles in the new pair. Overall satisfied with the purchase even though they were over $80 as compared to my previous Costco purchase. Other brands of hiking shoes like Merrell cost considerably more, so we'll see how these hold up. I'm no avid frequent hiker on rough terrain so they should be fine for me.

I liked the look of the Gore-tex version, and the shoe is clearly well made. However, sizing is bad for the 10.5 shoe I ordered. The shoe was tight in the toe box, and the back ball of my foot fell out when walking around, even with the shoes overly tightened. I would be worried that sizing down would make the toe box too small. Obviously, sizing up wouldn't make any sense.

3rd pair of AX4's, they all seem to pinch the side of the small toe if you like to tie them tight. if you like to wear them slightly loose they fit fine. That said I've worn this pair a lot for the past week and I find the soles lacking cushion when worn for an extended period of leisurely paced walking

Only tried them on so far but these are the dogs B#s. Great sturdy footware with great sole and light but with great foot support.
