Yukon Gear & Axle Hardcore Nodular Iron Differential Cover YHCC-D60

The only issue that I will start by noting is that I had to go somewhere other than Amazon to buy mine because if I didn’t have bad luck with my purchases then I wouldn’t have any luck at all. But moving on, these bad boys are the most hardcore, high performance, high durability, great looking differential covers that money can buy! I originally bought a Rancho RockGear diff. cover but the only thing you’ll save on between the two options is weight, and that’s because the Rancho diff. cover is only as thick as a piece of construction paper. The Yukon covers are thick, durable, engineered perfectly, and built to last! I’ve now got less noise out of my axles and know that they’re protected on the trails. The fill holes are perfectly placed, nothing leaks as long as you use a new gasket during installation, and the magnetic plugs are an added feature that I truly love as well. They are pricey but if you take your rig anywhere that those covers might get hit, then it’s still going to be cheaper than buying a whole new diff!

This was installed on a 88 C-1500 truck. It’s well make so durability should be good, easy installation, the thickness is crazy and excellent value for your money and so far it has no leakage. Definitely recommend this item.

Fit and finish is amazing. Comes with magnetic drain plug and should help keep case solid.

I have a 1984 Chevy K10 that I upgraded the axles from 1/2 ton to the 3/4 ton using the axles from a 1980 K20 3/4 ton, and thanks to the review left by HAMMOND I was able to purchase this cover and adapt it to my K20 10 bolt front axle. I was in the same boat he was, as I had purchase the Yukon cover for my 14 bolt rear and loved the look. Searched for one to match for the front and they didn’t make a cover for my 10 bolt front. With his review I was also able to make both my axels match with this these awesome Yukon covers. Just had to shave a little bit off the passenger side, and drill/tap one 5/16 bolt. It wasn’t hard to do and looks great.

Cover is great and fits perfect. Only issue was with the hardware quality control. One bolt looks like it was made at 4:00 on a Friday.

Okay, the Yukon diff cover is Solid. This should be said right up front. So, as I tell you what a pain in the back side it is to install, you'll know the juice is worth the squeeze. I have said it before and I'll say it again, I hate engineers. If you're the guy or gal that designed the original Dana 60 diff cover, please punch yourself in the face. You put 9/16ths bolts all the way around except the toughest one to get to and then you threw in a 5/16th allan screw. Said allen screw is rusty, full of dirt, and impossible to get a allan socket into. I fought with the original allan bolt for a good deal of time, but finally got it out. If it were just one more bolt life would have been easy.... however, I guess they felt there wasn't enough room for a bolt there. Now we're putting on the Yukon cover that has a fresh coat of silicone on it, but oh yeah, there's that same tight spot where there didn't want to put a bolt. Guess what? Yukon cover doesn't fit there any better than a bolt would have. I took a grinder to that part of the cover and thankfully it's pretty soft steel and ground away fairly quickly. I hit the exposed metal with some black paint and put the cover on, but holy smokes it's heavy. To be fair, I'm a little weak following a pretty severe motorcycle accident, but damn, it ain't easy to hold up there and get a bolt into it no matter who you are. I did get it in, so it's not impossible. Then... ya know how I was complaining above about the one 5/16ths allan? Well, that's all the way around on the Yukon. So, after a little bit of a tough time installing it, I am still glad I have it on there. The thing is a Beast!

Der Deckel ist schwer und Robust. Leider fehlen die Aussparungen für die Befestigung der Bremsleitung, oder entsprechende Distanzhülsen. Außerdem wurden 5/16“ Schrauben geliefert, anstatt 3/8“ Schrauben. Also zusätzlich noch Distanzhülsen und die passenden Schrauben besorgen.

Heavy duty quality and perfect fit I did not use the provided Allen bolts but replaced them for hex as that’s my personal preference.

Its a Beast! 16lbs of cast steel, with bolts and magnetic plugs. If this thing breaks, everything else will be broken, worth it!
