I bought one of these awhile ago in the store to have on hand. I like to have these around and have used them when the power went out on several occasions.....I put it in the room I am in and I'm not kidding when I say it lights up the whole room as if I had lights on. I liked them so much that I bought several to give to my family members to have around in the event their power goes out. Aside from that, I have used them on other occasions....great for a dark area or closet....You could even bring them outside for that matter....

Had a prior GE LED lamp that went defective after several years-it stayed on, remote would not turn it off.Prior model no longer available, this was closest.Unfortunately prior (heavier, better build) back that was mounted to wood above door did not fit this new model :(So had to remove the old back, fill holes, mark and drill NEW holes as even mounting screw spacing was different.It works, but housing no longer has sleek cover over LEDs, so not as elegant looking as prior model.Gave 3 star on battery life as too early to determine, still on original batteries.

I just wasn't using my head. We were looking at ways to add under-counter lighting in the kitchen without going all out with fixtures and an electrician's bill to install them. We bought one of these to see if it might do the job. If it made sense, we would buy a few more. I'm here to tell you that this product does not make sense. It's just not bright enough. It's that simple. The light takes 6 AA batteries, and the remote takes three AAA batteries. A lot of batteries for not a lot of light. It's not worth paying to send this back. I'll try to find someplace for it, maybe like a closet or in a cabinet.

The idea is good, and the remote switch is pretty cool and useful. So the product would have been really cool and useful, if it hadn't had one deal-breaker issue:As some of the other reviewers pointed out, this light draws power even when it's not on. I presume this is because it needs to keep the RF sensor active in the light to be able to pick up any "ON" signal from the remote switch. And it goes thru batteries in an astonishing rate in this state.I installed this in a small walk-in closet we rarely use, and IIRC, it went thru 6 fresh AA batteries in a matter of several months. Even worse, there doesn't seem to be any smarts in the light to detect if the batteries are running low and turn itself off completely, so it tries to draw current from empty batteries, which casues the batteries to leak! The last time I opened it up to replace the batteries, I found 4 of the 6 batteries leaked!This light can work fine if it's used relatively often. But for a seldom used location, I don't think this is a viable option. You are better off having a light with a hard on-off switch. The light also has a hard on-off switch on it, but it defeats the purpose of the remote switch, and you can't install it, say, on the ceiling where you can't reach without standing on something.

I needed a light with a remote switch that was wireless. This light has a reliable remote that mounts to the wall using a small screw. The light has a removable backing plate that can be mounted to the wall and then the light fits onto the mount. The light is fairly bright, but is not as bright as some of the other motion activated 20 LED light bars available on Amazon. The problem with those lights is that they don't have remotes. If you need to add a hallway light or a closet light, and want a remote, this will work really well.

Have received many compliments on them and have referred people to amazon to get these for under the cabinets and their companion the round 2 pack G E Puck light for inside the cabinets.**If you used these with the GE- 17494 LED Puck Lights you can then used only one of the remote. (Both sets will work with the same remote)Easily to install . I put up the ones under the cabinets myself and the round puck I just laid on the shelf in the back of the cabinets.Friends that saw my new cabinets was very happy to learn this about the GE lights.

The product works just fine in that it turns on with the remote provided, however the sticky tape provided to attach it to another surface isn't sturdy enough to actually hold the light up. It first fell a few hours after I put it up, I managed to reattach it and then 2 weeks later it fell again and wouldn't stick again. I'm sure it works just fine when screwed in place, but I purchased this item because I'm unable to screw it into the surface I want it on.
