I am a vinyl record collector who spent a couple months reading reviews, watching videos, seemingly endlessly trying to make sure my next speaker purchase was the right one for me. I'd had my previous speakers (Aegis AE-1 two way weighted floor speakers) for almost 25 years. I am not one who wants to constantly switch my gear in and out. So this upgrade had to be right.I knew I wanted floor speakers again. I wanted a warm sound with heavy but not overbearing bass (didn't want to mess with a subwoofer). I didn't want to wait for the perfect vintage speakers to cross my path. I also knew I wanted them to be beautiful to look at (The AE-1's were not) and last for decades. I also didn't want to spend thousands.I had heard good things about Q Acoustics and also heard that the 3050c speakers had trickled down some of the technology available in their top of the line speakers to these more mid-tier speakers. I'm no expert audiophile but these speakers do not sound, or look mid-tier in any way. They blow away my previous speakers for sure. I gave them a real impact test the other night with some heavy sounds... my floor shook and my ears felt like I'd had just been to a live concert. More importantly... my ears weren't fatigued... they wanted more.Couldn't be happier here. If you're looking for fantastic sound to enhance your record collection and don't want to drop a semester of college's worth of money on them then you can't really go wrong here.
