Large print. Nice drawings. Hardback book. I recommend these books. Bright and interesting. Good start for little ones.

Earth is like a ball, and the sun is like a ball, and the earth orbits the sun. The sun is a star that looks big because it is close. Other stars look tiny because they are far away. Stars are heavy balls of hot gas. Inside stars atoms squeeze together. Smaller atoms squeeze together making bigger atoms and releasing energy in the process. The exploding stars spread bigger atoms across the Universe. The book is colorful and simple reading, but it features the Periodic table, which is not for babies, but ignoring that, this is a simple and fun book for young children.

we have a bunch from this series and I think this is our favorite. big concepts explained in a simple way. I never imagined my toddler would be saying “physics” or knowing about the earth orbiting around the sun. so awesome.

I liked the books a bunch but it was hard for my som to follow along.

This book is one that is either stand-alone, or one of a set that includes titles such as 'Rocket Science for Babies' and 'General Relativity for Babies'. Obviously, even the most mild treatment of such a topic is going to require either extraordinary talent on the part of the baby, or a book that is little more than a tactile experience for the baby. But here's the deal - this isn't meant just for babies (sorry to ruin the surprise!). This book is meant for the adults in the baby's life - if the adults begin to learn how to teach in very simple ways some of the most complex and deep of scientific truths and discoveries at a very early age, who knows? We might be producing the next Einstein or Newton. At the very least, we'll be raising a generation who isn't afraid of science and complex ideas, for they will have had them literally from the cradle. And that's what makes this series so great. This particular book starts with basic concepts useful in astronomy and astrophysics. A ball. A ball is a round sphere. So are planets! So, it is relatable, even to the adults in the room. The Sun is also a ball, but a bigger ball. The Earth goes around it. Other balls/stars are like the Sun - they are further away, the Sun is close up. Simple, yes, but you'd be astonished at just how many people don't get that! And perhaps they can be forgiven. Most of humanity didn't realize the distinction either until the 1600s when Christian Huygens (among others) worked to more definitely determine that fact. Don't worry, phrases like 'definitely determine' are not part of the book. It is colourful. It is fun. It is useful. An ideal gift in many ways, for baby and new parents.

My son in law was more excited to read them to my grandson than anything, he is a premed student so science is up his alley! He did say he found one in accuracy but still loves them. They are cute and perfect for babies or toddlers!

Se spiegato la prima volta il bambino poi è in grado di riconoscere la struttura di un atomo in un allustrazione. Perfetto se si desidera che un bambino cresca senza la paura di scoprire il mondo e concetti complessi.

Lots of interesting pictures and would definitely recommend for any older baby and young toddler that is still interested in board books. The science is also interesting to adults too!

Cuando vuelvan a ver esto en secundaria, no deberían sentir ningún temor, sino al contrario, familiaridad y, por lo tanto, confianza. My 3.5YO son wants to read this every night. He loves planets and has enjoyed learning the basics of stars and how they live and die and how they create the elements that are inside us.
