Fumoi Automatic Litter Box,App Control,Safety Sensor,Washable Litter Trays

I previously owned a Litter-Robot self cleaning litter box. It was great for a couple of years and then it started giving me problems, like all the time! And the thing was not cheap. It was between 6 and $700. At one point, I had to glue the bladder back on just to make it work again. It just became too much of a headache, and I had to get way too involved with the mechanisms. I was really nervous because, I didn’t want to spend that much on another box. I looked at tons of robotic litter cleaning boxes on Amazon, because now there’s so many more to pick from. After looking at reviews, I decided upon the Fumoi automatic litter box. Then I just had to wait for it to arrive. Once it did arrive, I unpacked the whole thing and was so pleasantly surprised at the directions. It was so simple to put together, way less heavy than my previous litter box and I thought, how could this really be effective being that it weighed so little? To add to my nervousness I was going out of town for three weeks, and I was leaving somebody else behind to take care of my cat. By the time I left, I’d only had two weeks experience with this litter box. But it seemed to be doing very well! It’s so simple to use with only three engaging buttons, I’m pretty sure anybody could figure it out without even reading any directions. Again, I was pleasantly surprised while I was away that my caretaker wrote to me and said she had to change the litter and said that even though she didn’t know this litter box, she would figure it out and she did. One small thing that I took away after reading so many reviews, was that when I replace the bag I make sure to slip the bag under the front lip, where the little magnetic disc is so that the bag will never get in the way of the robot’s turn. Now I don’t know if this makes a difference, but it just makes me feel better to do it. The cat loved the litter box right away. She hopped in it within the first two minutes after I put it up! I bought some steps that another reviewer had recommended, because my cat is a little finicky, ha ha whose isn’t? Anyway, the steps work great with the machine, the cat loves the box, and I have no complaints. The other day it became just slightly offkilter in its turn, in other words it landed about an inch from center. I simply took off the lid, picked up the mechanism re-centered. It put the lid back on and all was good. Hardly a complaint. And I love how I can track my cats weight and how many times she uses the potty. It’s a great litter box and it won’t break the bank. I doubt you’ll be sorry if you give this one try. I use regular clumping litter in it. The only mess that it creates is a little bit of litter that comes off of my cat’s feet when she walks out, but truthfully that gets caught by the little steps I purchased, so I highly recommend those also and they were so inexpensive, if you take a look, you’ll see that there’s many companies that sell the little steps.

This Fumoi automatic cat litter box is a game changer. I have multiple cats and keeping up with the litter box was exhausting. This has taken the stress out of daily cleaning and has eliminated the smell. I bought a second one. The cats have taken to it beautifully. On even enjoys watching it cycle. I have recommended to friends. It runs quiet and is a good price compared to other automatic litter boxes. I highly recommend if you are thinking about getting it but not sure this one is a good choice and is safe for your cats. The sensors stop the unit's cycle when my cat pokes his head in the entrance. It is wifi connected and you can download the app on your phone.

I purchased this about a month ago and it has been an absolute game changer. However there is a learning curve to using it correctly to get the best results. 1. You need to use a higher quality litter. It does balance out cost wise and I am using less litter than before. I’m currently using the dr. Emby or something like that from Walmart. It has the best clumping for pee and poop. 2. You need to clean it well! Like the whole thing comes apart, including the tray where the litter sits. I take it apart about every two weeks to clean and use KOE to break up any lingering smells on it. 3. Not necessary but my litter box sit in a smaller room with little ventilation and the smells were somehow worse when I switched to this. I placed my air purifier near it and it took care of the issue. That paired with the better litter. NOW FOR THE POSITIVES 1. I use this for 3 cats! 2 kittens and an adult. It handles it amazingly. It keeps up with the cleaning just fine 2. My adult cat is a chonky boy and he fits inside with no issues at all 3. It quiet!!! 4. You can control it with an app. It will reset, clean, and fully empty with a button. So simple

I'm always hesitant to leave a review on a product that many others claim to be bound to fail. I spent hours and hours reading and trying to understand what exactly other people were dealing with when it failed... And actually someone else's diligent review summed up the issues that most are dealing with -- your litter type is the problem. I've got two 10 month old boys. Waited a month to leave the review. Even had a buddy shame me, claiming these auto cleaning litter boxes are killers or dangerous.... Nothing and I mean nothing seems to be a real risk or danger that I can see. All sensors work. I was leery at first. Set it to manual cleaning instead of automatic -- to get myself used to it and the kitties used to it. After first set up, cats were immediately interested and into it. They both were in it immediately. Both had to poop immediately lol. Once they got out, I manually cleaned. tested with hand motion slowly moving towards entrance. Device stopped moving immediately. Tried multiple times. Same. If anything the cats were too interested. In the beginning, every single time it started cleaning they had to investigate. Sometimes it would take manual intervention because they just wouldn't let it finish a single clean cycle. That spoke volumes though... the safety sensors work. As for most people that had litter issues... It's litter-ally your litter that's the issue. Can't be clay or cheap. Should be as close to dust free as possible. Dust covers sensor. Sensor fails. Clay gets more mud like and causes it to stick, not allowing for it to sort/filter well. The mat under the litter over the hole should be cleaned when you clean the unit. I use Arm & Hammer Slide. Not a single issue from day one with the litter. It dramatically reduced their litter box litter throwing/playing. Much cleaner area for sure! I haven't had any real issues other than the app disconnect once. Had to delete and re-add the device. It was hardly an issue. Easy to set up. Easy to maintain. Sensors work. App is helpful but not great. Scent is reduced dramatically. Like... 85% less noticeable... Maybe 90. It is a little bulky but it accommodates two 10 pound teen kitties at once. So we know a big cat will do just fine. Idk about the haters. It works fantastic IMO. Definitely worth the money.

UPDATE: having a love hate relationship with this thing. One cat weighs 12-13 lbs and struggles to fit inside the litter robot. If your cat weighs over 8-9 lbs his/her fur will be constantly dirty and stinky. Don’t buy it. This is a really good litter robot. It worked straight out of the box. Connected to WiFi and the AP quickly. If you have issues it’s your understanding of the AP not the actual devices. How do I know? There’s a whatsap number to contact and I got help immediately which was awesome! It’s really quiet. I can barely hear it. In fact I keep checking to look at whether it’s cleaning the litter because I don’t know when it’s working unless I look at the AP. But that registers after it’s already performed its function. It’s sturdy & well made. I was in a different state & engaged the manual cleaning prompt on the AP & was pleased it actually worked. The drawer on the button where you put the bags is very snug to contain odors so it needs to be wiggled a little as you’re sliding it into place. Making sure it’s completely in or the robot won’t work. The safety features work very well meaning if your cat sticks an ear or paw inside the robot will stop the rotating clean function. I have to say I got a little spoiled & lazy not having to scoop poop. So let the drawer fill up for over 3 days. That’s when you start smelling it. And I’ll never let it go that long again. If you’re like me and really dislike the smell of cat urine then try to empty the drawer every 2 days at least and you won’t get any bad odors. I also use a litter freshening powder which helps. One thing that’s a bit annoying is that the walls inside the machine need to be wiped down with a damp cloth or with spray every 2-3 days. If you don’t debris, litter & yucky stuff builds up and sticks to your cats coat. One of my cats is chunky and this happens to him. So I keep a stiff brush by the robots. I wrap a sprayed paper towel on it and proceed to brush the interior walls if the robot every few days. This is quick & easy & seems to work. Also, I add a few cups of fresh clean litter after every bag clean out to keep the levels appropriately for proper use. So with all this being said, it’s a really good and more reasonably priced litter robot that has been a welcomed addition to our cat care & home. Not having to scoop poop and peecakes every day or every other day is a blessing to be celebrated! IYKYK! I took off 1 star because this thing could be improved. 1 )could be sized larger on the interior for chunky tabbies and larger breeds. 2) it can be improved with a section on top that holds clean litter & then can self refill as needed. If it can measure the weight of each cat entering it as it already does, it could dispense the precise litter weight needed to dispense clean litter. 3) I wish it came with its own steps. My shorter, older, chunky cat is clumsy getting his back legs into it. Over all this litter robot is very well received and appreciated. Is well made, sturdy, & easy to engage & function. It is a good value for the price. I own 2 and we really like them both. I recommend this product.

I was a little skeptical about whether an automatic litter box would really be an improvement on the traditional litter tray (the worst thing about having a cat, although obvs outweighed by all the fantastic things!), but I have to say my experience thus far has made me a full convert! It came very securely packaged, but unboxing and setup was pretty straightforward - it took me a literally couple of minutes to work everything out / get the setup right to stop the flashing lights, so pretty standard for new electronic devices. App was easy to download and set up, and the tracking works fine if that's something of interest to you. I keep it in the garage, so there was plenty of space - cable was a little short, but that was easily solvable with an extension cord. The box seems sturdy and has easily withstood the first few weeks of use. My cat took to using it immediately, ignoring the old litter tray I'd left nearby in case it was uncertain - completely unneeded! The automatic cleaning setting works perfectly, but it's just as easy to press the buttons on the front - as another reviewer noted, I like to wait a little longer than the standard 6 minutes so that no, ahem, 'remnants' stick to the sides. There aren't many downsides to this machine - if I were to identify anything, it is the (removable) soft tray that actually holds the litter and collects the cat's 'deposits' - as it's not hard plastic, it's a little trickier to clean / remove stains than a normal litter tray (requires a little more scrubbing). But really that's a pretty small thing given all the positives about the box. So - I fully recommend this litter box (and have done so to several fellow cat-owners), and will definitely never go back to a traditional litter tray!

First I have to say I did not take off any stars because that would be unfair. This functions exactly the way it is meant to and is advertised. That said, I’m not sure I’d buy it again. My hope was this box would eliminate litter box odor, and also allow us to go away for the weekend and not come home to a super dirty litter box. (That second part it can do.) I have two kittens, and was advised to keep a litter box on each floor. That means on the main floor, the box is in our mudroom which is right off the kitchen. I don’t particularly like having litter boxes where they can be seen and smelled, but that’s really the only option for this floor. We followed all the instructions on how to introduce this robot to the kittens and that went smoothly and they use it with no issue. The cons to me are: - it’s really high off the ground and requires stairs for them to get in and out. - it doesn’t really help with the smell. After they use it, it needs to delay the cleaning for about 10-15 minutes ideally (you can adjust this) to allow urine to clump. So there’s odors during that period of time. Having two kittens, that means there are frequent odors as they use the box about 4 times a day each! - the unit is of course not airtight, so you can still smell the drawer of poop to some extent. And when it runs, all the odor from that bucket of poo and pee is open and is very smelly. - the rake gets build-up poop and urine clumps stuck in it just like a manual pooper scooper so that smells and needs cleaned often. It does come with a little long handled brush to clean the rake. - the actual part they stand it gets dirty on the bottom as well rim and that causes it to smell, so all these little extra parts need frequent cleaning if you’re hoping to eliminate odors. Now, if it’s in a more isolated and unused area of your home and you’re just wanting it to self clean, and are not concerned about odors, you’d find this unit to be perfect. I realize I had unrealistic hopes for what I wanted it to be able to provide.

First, it's a great litterbox with poor documentation and the error messages are confusing, even for a tech person. I've thought it was "broken" three times due to it going into failure modes only to find out something minor impacted it and it was actually perfectly fine. If it suddenly stops working, check the following... Did someone put the front legs on a soft surface like a litter mat? My kid moved the litter mat under the legs to catch more falling litter, but there are scales in the front legs that measure when the cats get in and out. So it failed, and my only clue was that the weight of the cat was suddenly 25 pounds in the data log. He's 12. Keep it on a hard, level surface with the back one. If you get a pinch indicator that won't go away, it's the IR sensor and they are tucked away where it's hard to see in a dark room. Remove the drum and they are on the back of the hole where the litter tray opening falls through - it's a line of LED type lights and sensors for those lights, protected by a little clear cover. Wet dirty litter can fall between the cover and the sensors. Fortunately, the cover pops out and you can clean both then replace it. Odor and cleanliness are mostly a function of what scoopable litter you buy. I'm still experimenting a year into this, but some brands - even ones specifically made for robotic litterboxes and expensive - really are terrible with odor control. You can adjust how long it waits to clean itself so the chemical has the maximum chance of absorbing odor, or minimize the exposure to the air of the waste itself. Also be aware some "odor control" litter just makes a sickening perfume-plus-ammonia smell that is horrid, but a very good indicator it's time to empty the tray. It's VERY quiet. I have a work area 10 feet away and barely notice it, which is actually bad when trying to diagnose the issues mentioned. A hyper-curious kitten will tend to "jam" it by constantly sticking her head in when it runs to see what's going on. This is the same cat I call to the living room by printing something on the laser printer because the noise makes her magically appear from anywhere in the house before the first sheet is printed. If you have a printer cat, and you get issues of it failing because it's constantly "blocked", it might be the cat doing an engineering investigation. I would hold her where she could see in and the sensors wouldn't see her to make both happy. Speaking of - it's a good size, good quality material. Don't let your kids have copies of the phone app because it appears to only chat with one phone at a time, and my kid was changing the color light and locking me out of maintenance alerts. Anyway, if it suddenly "fails", read through this and check the issues I've found in my first year with it. It's an excellent value on sale compared to the cheap/open ones and the expensive/odor control ones. The capacity is fine for one big and one standard cat, total weight 20 pounds.
