★★★★★ Perfect Upgrade — My iPod Feels Brand New Again
I installed this upgraded battery in my iPod 5.5th Gen (30GB model) about a week ago, and I’m honestly blown away by the results.Installation was pretty easy if you’ve opened one of these iPods before — the battery fit fine, and everything closed up clean with no issues. No bulging, no loose parts, just a solid fit.The performance has been excellent. Since installing the new battery, I haven’t run out of charge once. I’ve used the iPod for hours at a time — mostly during walks and while working — and the battery just keeps going. I’ve barely even thought about charging it. Just syncing songs on the computer over the past few days has been enough to keep the battery topped up.This one simple upgrade brought my iPod back to life. It feels dependable again, like when it was brand new. If you’re still using a classic iPod and want to keep it going strong, this battery mod is 100% worth it. Highly recommended.

Works great
Fantastic replacement. Cable is the original size but because the battery is larger, it ends up being too long. Pretty easy fix for anyone who has ever worked in a device, just fold part of the long cable over onto itself, and give it a loose crease. Do not crease it hard or you likely will break the internal copper traces in the ribbon.I also used some double sided adhesive to get it to stick better where the only battery was.Fit perfectly with a thin 7th Gen using an imcort dual micro SD adapter for the drive replacement. I got over 60 hours of continuous music playback before it finally gave up (I had to go to bed so not sure on the exact, but I sent to bed with 8% left at the 60 hour mark)Works perfectly, and seems to hold a charge pretty well. Just don't trust the percentage in rockbox, it's rarely accurate and it's more an estimate

Different battery but still worked
The media could not be loaded. The battery I received was not the same as in the photo and description. Very similar but a completely different battery. The cable was in a different spot which meant it was too long or and required me to bend it awkwardly to close. Only recommend if you are comfortable with that, otherwise it works fine, it’s a big battery so it’ll last a few days on a full charge.

Excellent drop-in battery upgrade
I love that the ipod is still getting support from third parties in 2025! I've had an iflash quad installed in a 5th Gen iPod for many years, but had never replaced the original battery (I mostly use it docked). Theoretically this should provide about 4 times more battery life than the original OEM pack when new, and a lot more than the aged cell that was in my device up until now. I'll monitor the battery life and update this review if it doesn't meet its capacity claims. This took me about 5 minutes to install, and it works great! the battery itself appears well made (I'm not sure if it's actually an LG manufactured cell, but that's what's printed on it) and has lots of Kapton tape insulating the connector side. The flex is positioned correctly to line up with the connector on the board, which makes installing it extremely easy without needing to reposition anything. the pack itself lines up with the edge of the case, making it a perfect fit with respect to the iflash's foam insert that holds the board in place against the case.If you have an ipod with iflash quad (or are planning to install one), this is a great battery upgrade option to consider.

Big battery, but no room for it because I didn't understand what Iflash quad was. My fault.
This didn't fit in the case. I didn't understand what dual iflash quad meant which I now know to be an SD card module replacement, but I can confirm that the battery works just fine so stars for that. It's twice the size of the original so it stands to reason I should get close to double the playtime. I would rather not rebuild the guts just yet, but if I could find a backing for a classic that is not as slender. I might be able to make this work. I would really LIKE to, anyhow. Using it with it's halves apart isn't ideal and there is no way I am closing this up until my upgrade is complete because while putting the battery in was easy, getting the halves apart in the first place was some houdini maneuver, geez. My ipod video v5.5 was nowhere near as difficult to get open. What a pain that was. Sadly, I found nothing like that on Amazon, a larger capacity backing, that is. So I will look harder, then try elsewhere. I was really looking forward to double the battery life. I was looking forward to getting teased for my old relic of an ipod but I just really love them. I have three. I love being able to carry a slice of my music library in my pocket. If I CAN get a larger capacity backing, I'd like to try to mod it with a bluetooth module as well. If the extended capacity is an additional thickness equal to that of the battery, there will be plenty of room for one inside. But as for the battery, there is nothing wrong with it. It's a good quality battery with a nice long charge compared to the original.
