Best in the game
This is the only product I will use for my hair. I’ve been using this product for years and love it. Keeps my hair in place and doesn’t leave it all greasy looking.

Great for edges
My daughter loves this brand, great for holding edges into place!

My favorite styler
I really like using this gel. My hair is very fine but also kinky curly and most gels don't hold or smooth my hair but instead makes it curl up more. So I was looking for something that could provide hold. This does the trick. A lot of naturals I see use this as an edge control, I use it for my Curlformer sets and they come out the smoothest they've ever been, but more importantly they last twice as long as they would otherwise. My hair feels firm but soft; I mix it with other products so I don't know if it's the gel or the products making it soft. My only issue is if I'm not careful it can leave visible yellow residue in my hair. The residue is a glue-like consistency and hard to get rid of without rinsing it out.

great for African American hair as edge control
I am an African American woman and I decided to use this product along with pomade to help make my edges lay down flat for a longer period of time. I heard about this technique on a Youtube video and it really works! I use it with Olive Oil edge control pomade. First, lay down your edges with the pomade and smooth it out really good. Then dab your finger into the gorilla snot (a little dab goes a LONG way) and rub it in atop the pomade. It makes the pomade hold better and longer. Also, it gives your hair a shinier look and it does not harden to a rock-hard shell, which I love. It does not turn white either. However, if you keep gunking it on your hair day after day, of course you're going to end up with build-up. For the best use of this product, once it arrives in the mail, leave it partially open overnight. By doing this, it will help yout gel harden a little bit so that it won't be so....well...snotty :) . The only downside to this gel is that it is very very snotty. Think boiled okra. Ugh. However, it gets the job done and that's all that matters! If you have a young daughter (my daughter is 1) with unruly edges that keep rolling up into balls and making the cute style you did to her hair look old and messy within hours, use this product along with pomade on her hair and her style will keep for the whole day. Love it!

This is the best gel ever
I saw a youtube video for type 4C hair. That hair is dry and course and very tangly. This gel is like a grease conditional Gel while still holding your hair in place. Its like gewy yellow substance that is activated with water. Normally I never put water base products in my hair because it makes my hair tangle and I can't Combe it. but this stuff with water makes me have waves and soft hair. All I do is put on a scarf after wards. My hair is complete conditioned and not hard or tangle. If you have seriously course hair that needs to become manageable, then get this. If you don't have hair like that then this still works. you just don't have as much issues. I used a lot of the product and when it dried it was not white. It just holds it together and works. You can ix it with got to be glue if you need to but I didn't because I don't like my hair hard or dry. It came with two bottles.

This stuff is amazing!
I have been trying for years to find something that will keep my daughter's hair neat. The problem is both her and her type of her. Her hair is very frizzy but she also touches it frequently and it gets undone soon after being done. I attached two pictures. One showing her hair soon after it was done while using another gel product. The other photo is her hair after spending all day at school. Can't believe how neat it still looked!

Leaves Brown flakes
First of all it does not hold for long especially if you have truly hard African hair. Secondly it leaves brown flakes on the edges. I have tried but I don't think I will be using it anymore.
