I used to spend a ton of money on sunglasses from Oakley to Maui Jim. THe polarized Maui Jim's were great but I can't justify spending over a $100 for sunglasses anymore. So for the past few years I've gone the other direction and getting the Walmart specials for anywhere from $5-$15 a pair. I thought they were good enough and I didn't care if they got lost or broken. Lately I've noticed the lenses seem dirty or hazy even after cleaning them and there aren't any scratches on the lenses. So I figured I'd check some Amazon reviews and take a shot on reviewer recommended sunglasses for no more than $30.I've found my go to Sunglasses - I am amazed at the quality and clarity of these sunglasses. They remind me of my first pair of Maui Jim sunglasses although I have to admit Maui Jim is a much higher quality feel to them. The Hodgson sunglasses are extremely light and fit my melon of a head very comfortably. The Polarized lenses are amazing when I compared them to my $15 pair from walmart. For a few extra bucks you can have a great pair of sunglasses that do what they are meant to. Hopefully they will hold up for a year or two, but I do plan on buying another pair to leave in the car since it comes with a protective case and cleaning cloth, so no worries about leaving them in the glove compartment.If you're looking for a great pair of sunglasses at a reasonable price then I highly recommend HODGSON Polarized. I went with the red/orange lenses and the clarity driving is great. I was NOT given anything for this review - I just really like my new sunglasses! I will be sure to update if my opinion changes, but I hope to only be more impressed.

The glasses I got appear to be good quality. Frames are solid feeling with good coloring. Mine had a scratch on them probably because Amazon shipped them with a heavier item in the box and the sunglasses box got crushed. Knowing I was sending them back I decided to test the lenses. I used a typical Scott dinner napkin on the lens rubbing it quite vigorously.. not a scratch was made from doing this.. the outer scratch resistant coating seems to be really good quality. Of course i'd only use a glasses cloth from now on but hey they test was free so why not.. The glasses have a really good look to them with blue coloring on the outside of the lenses.. you can see your eyes through the lenses if you're looking at the person wearing them.. the problem I had with them is how they make everything look and is what I included images of. I like glasses that darken things a bit and take away the harshness of the sun during the day.. these glasses do take away some of that but they keep everything mostly light.. but they cast everything in a slightly yellowish tint.. i'm not into glasses like this so I would have returned them anyhow. If you like this type these are the ones for you. I didn't test them fishing or anything but other reviewers have commented on their effectiveness in doing that.. my main point was to show the view from 'our' side of the lens, not from the outside.. (which is something they should have included in the description). I asked customers of other lens colors and they confirmed the gray lens is a typical darkening lens.. it appears only the blue lens I ordered makes everything slightly yellow.. Overall really good frames and design.

Great knockaround glasses for the price. They seem durable, and work as described. They come with a case and a wipe as well as a card to see the polarized lenses. Not really necessary but unexpected extra. Overall I use them for fishing and driving, they work great in this regard the design holds them tighter on your head and prevents them from falling off. I would definately suggest these for the car, boat, or as a spare pair you dont have to worrky about losing or leaving behind.

Quality has gone downhill. 1st pair was great! Nice dark lens.Second pair the lens is not dark enough. Put them next to each other and no comparison.Hardly call them sun glasses.I should return them.

Great! I am a hard fit for sunglasses. My nose seams to bruise with many brands and my head is too big for at least 50% of the adult glasses I buy. I admit, I am somewhat of a prima donna on sunglasses, I prefer Oakleys Ice. But those are over 100 dollars and they seam to discontinue my favorites at any given time. I love these Hodges, if my Oaks are a 10 outta 10, these Hodges are a 9 outta 10.Cons- None. I usually carefully think about Cons and try to put some up, but with these glasses I can't find any. I will report back on how the lens coatings hold up over time, but there is nothing wrong with these shades. I have spent much more many times and been disappointed, but these glasses wear and look just as good as a hundred dollar pair of shades. Gonna wait for the next sale and buy a bunch for my nieces and nephews.Pro's- Number one and most important, they fit a big head. Maybe a tad less then Oakley Ice, but they fit me perfect.Great case, wow at this price point I can't believe all you get. Super light but strong clipable frame, perfect for active people.Super Light and great nose sport with built in silicone inserts in every pair.What more can I say, I love the look, the durable frame, the bumpout hole style. the lens, the coatings.I took a big chance and I bought three pair off of the other reviews, so I got two styles I can compare. Full frame and half frame styles, I prefer the full frame, but the half frames are ok. Just preference on that deal.When you get these on daily deals, BUY many pairs. I will buy at least 6 pairs next time. I don't think I will buy another pair of expensive glasses, these are what I am looking for. Cheap but perfect in every way.
