A genuinely great gin
Genuinely a great gin. I hovered around a few higher-% gins and stumbled on this a couple of years ago. It has a decent 'kick' but not at the expense of flavour. I realise that gin-drinkers have very selective tastes, but this one ticks all my boxes - and I have it on subscription now since I have no intention of buying any other gins.

Gintastic.....
As a gin lover for many years, I have to say that I have most certainly enjoyed ‘playing the field’ in this area. I took a risk on this ‘new gin’ for me whilst looking for a ‘Navy Strength’ purchase. I have to say up until this point Tarquin’s Sea Dog reigned supreme in my eyes as the number one Navy Gin until the ‘new kid on the block’ arrived and became a real contender for top slot. Weighing in at a heady 60% this gin is most certainly full bodied in flavour, but remains as smooth as silk in a measured glass of tonic, about 200ml does the trick. The taste is simple, sweet, smooth and extremely pleasing, leaving a warm almost brandy like warm afterglow on the palate. A lot of what I could continue to say has already been mentioned in the other unanimously rave reviews on this super gin. Suffice to say it is up with the very best in the options of many, so try it and I’m pretty certain you will be back for more like me. It’s not cheap but you do get what you pay for here, and it tastes very special.

Clean vodka taste,4 stars because it is not as strong as usual vodkas.
Comparatively down on alcohol content compared to other vodkas.....Absolut....Stoli....etc.

A favourite!
This is one of my favourite gins. Light and refreshing with citrus hints. It's so difficult to get hold of these days. A staple in our drinks cabinet!

The best gin you'll ever taste
My husband and I have been drinking Blackwoods 40% gin for some years now, having seen it positively reviewed on an expert's Gin Appreciation website. As G&T fans (obviously, combined with Fever Tree tonic) we were hooked straight away on its wonderful flavours and botanicals. When we discovered that Blackwoods also produce a 60% gin, we just had to try it, and we were not disappointed. The stronger gin doesn't stray too far from it's 'little brother', but the delicate flavours are enhanced for a sublime G&T. We will certainly be buying this again, and can highly recommend it to anyone with a sophisticated taste and send of enjoyment for a truly fantastic G&T.

I bought this Gin based on some very high opinion of it from someone else and for once, I was not disappointed. It makes an very nice gin-tonic with a Thomas Henry or other nuanced tonics (avoid Schweppes which would cover this gin's subtle taste too much), and it has an especially good and different taste when tasting it pure, against some other gins. I did a comparative tasting against a Tanqueray and a Boë's Superior Gin I also just bought to try it out. The Blackwood's easily won, and the Boë clearly lost (revealed as one of these gins that "taste like a perfume", quite all-right but lacking the subtelty and variety of aromas that one finds in the Blackwood's and other more elaborate gins). The Tanqueray was also tasting much less rich than the Blackwoods and seemed boring in comparison (though it remains still a good choice for gin-tonics). I will definitely buy this Blackwood's gin again!
