Q: Why is the oil so much more expensive on amazon? i can get it on the papa vince website for nearly $9 less a bottle.

Yes but the shipping is like $8 on the website, so it's close to the same price. I find that I do save around $3-$4 by ordering it off the Papa V website though.

Q: Is this olive oil first pressed?

Yes, it is first-cold-pressed. But most importantly, it is first-cold-pressed with fresh olives. This is why we boast acidity levels below .26 (FFA <.26) Let me explain. What orange juice do you think will taste better? The one squeezed with fresh oranges or the one squeezed with mildew oranges? Most First-Press-Cold-Pressed Olive Oils boast acidity of FFA <.8. Though this is the accepted industry standard, what most people do not know is that this is the acidity of extra virgin olive oil squeezed/first-cold-pressed with decaying-stage olives. At Papa Vince we only squeeze/first-cold-press fresh olives. In fact, Papa Vince is so fresh, you can literally sip it and get addicted to it.

Q: Was this olive oil really harvested in 2016?

In the North Hemisphere, olives are harvested once a year, from late October to early January. Just as cars are released in September and named after the new year, olives are harvested at the end of the year and named after the New Year. NOTE: Papa Vince's HARVEST TASTES DIFFERENT EVERY YEAR. We refuse to use any standardizing methods. Papa Vince is 100% Olive Juice and it will taste different every harvest and every year. In fact, once we run out, you have to wait until the new harvest. Each Papa Vince Harvest will be named after the new year. Every bottle has its harvest date and expiration date indicated in the back label.

Q: When will the 2017 harvest be available for purchase?

We are harvesting as we speak. We harvest from November all the way to Jan. We decant Papa Vince Extra Virgin Olive Oil for an entire month. The 2017 harvest will not be available in the USA until after Feb 15, 2017.
