PRUNUS J-618 Portable Radio AM FM with Bluetooth Earphone Output, 2000mah

Got this small and lightweight radio to use at MLB games for listening to the radio broadcast while watching. It's easy to use and works great! At the MN Twins stadium I listen to 830 AM and it's virtually real-time there, less than 3 second delay. It allows setting station presets, so with one button I have it on the station I need. The best part (reason I got this over others) is that it works with a pair of Bluetooth earbuds, not just wired ones. I use a nice pair of Bluetooth noise-cancelling earbuds with this radio and it's a great time! Easy to hear and understand what they're saying. The antenna ensures solid reception. I can literally stick it in my back jean pocket, so easy to walk and bring it in. One note, it isn't waterproof that I am aware of, so be mindful of weather and have a plastic bag for it just in case! I recommend this to anyone looking for a small portable radio for the same use case.

I stumbled on this unique pocket radio recently. We collect many high end radios including shortwave radios, single side Band amateur radios, weather band radios and others. This 2026 J-618 Prunus radio is an exceptional device for pocket radios because of its many features, excellent sound performance, quality of construction and reasonable price. The use of a DSP chip and reception sensitivity make this a remarkable pocket radio good for all sorts of uses. Additionally, the ability to connect to Bluetooth earbuds help make it a unique portable radio. With its illuminated digital screen, it's a radio sure to be enjoyed for many years. Solid build quality and rechargeable 2,000 mah battery make the J-618 a top choice and a really great gift idea many will appreciate. Set of features I was looking for: - as small as possible - good battery life - digital tuner with memory slots - both AM and FM bands - sleep timer For these 5 points, this little radio delivers in droves. Build quality is decent, sound quality is above average for this size radio. Everything else included is bonus for my use case: micro SD card slot, Bluetooth both as host and client, backlit display, etc. The only small quibble I got is the use of rechargeable battery instead of more customary 2x standard AA size batteries - I would prefer standard batteries, since I have no information on how long is rechargeable battery going to last and if I will be able to find an industry standard replacement couple of years down the road.

So, the onboard speaker is kinda crummy, so if you're looking for an amazing sound, you'll probably want to connect it to a better speaker. But that is literally the only thing that I can say is even remotely negative about this!!! And tbh, for me it's not even a negative. The crummy speaker sounds nostalgic to me, old music hits the right vibe through it. It has a nice warm kind of fuzz to it~ Anyway, so, the #1 amazing thing about this radio to me is that it is THE ONLY ONE I COULD FIND that supports bluetooth out. If you have a nice bluetooth headset, you can listen to the radio on it! It also has bluetooth in, so if for whatever reason you want to play some other device through it, you can. The radio tuner is digital and easy to work. Supports both FM and AM bands. The built in MP3 player is SUPER FAST. Like, if you slot press the button for it and you have a TF card loaded into it, the music will just immediately begin playing. It remembers your place when you turn it off, or remove the TF card, and if you slot in a new card, it will just immediately start playing. It doesn't support anything like playlists or anything, it only plays absolutely everything on the card, but that's fine. It has shuffle and repeat~ It also has a sleep timer, so it can automatically turn itself off after up to 90 mins The battery is also great! I've had this thing running through a 2 day convention, and a couple nights sleep, and it got to like 50%. I didn't have it turned all the way up though, so, mileage may vary, but, the battery seems great to me! It also has a standard headphone jack, I've never used it, but it's there if you want it~ As for the physical, it's a plastic body with plastic and rubbery buttons. The buttons all have a very nice loud clicky feel to them. It feels pretty solid in the hand, the plastic doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. It has one of those classic plastic covered LCD screens. Easy to read in a very bright environment, but it also has a very bright backlight that turns on for a few seconds when you press any button. It has an extendable antenna for FM and AM, and gets great signal~ The buttons are all labelled pretty clearly, and many of them have dual functions, so, it's wise to read the instructions if you're not sure about them, but I was able to understand it basically right away by looking at it. The instructions are nicely detailed about what does what though~ So yeah, I just love this thing man, if you're in the market for a radio to carry around with you, with multiple options for what it can play, and how it can play it for you, you really can't go wrong with this one.

I'm not sure what others pick about this guy, it works flawlessly with my ear buds. I don't always have cell coverage to listen to radio via. cell phone on my outback hikes, this dude picks up AM stations from long range and FM with in 100 miles. Both signals, as well as playing files from a TF card can be piped to my ear buds via built in BT. Easy to pare up and get going....the battery life seems decent even though they say it's less with BT connection, I am not finding that an issue. The radio has good selectivity to stations. Lots of memory to store their frequencies in memories. Would be nice if it had basic bass/treble controls but not a big issue on talk radio. I got this dude for $20 and at that it's pretty amazing! Back in the mid-60's I remember buying a 7-tranistor AM only, speaker portable radio for $29 and at the time thought that was amazing of a deal, heck no tubes to test/swap out after all....
