I have used this brace almost every day since it arrived about one month ago.The reason I purchased it is that, after experiencing significant pain following certain activities (sitting for long periods of time at the computer or running long distance), I sought medical attention and discovered from X-rays that my spine is abnormally curved. The curve is not extreme enough to be diagnosed as scoliosis, but it is sufficiently abnormal to cause pain. Have I noticed any changes in my body since I began using the brace? Absolutely. I am in far less pain at the end of the day when I wear the brace. Before receiving the brace, I took pain medicine most nights because my shoulders, neck, chest, and back were causing me agony. I haven't used pain medicine since beginning to wear the brace. My back aches in a different way when I wear the brace, which I suspect is due to improved alignment of my spine and a resulting change in the way the muscles around the spine are being used. However, this ache is minor compared to the pain I experienced prior to using the brace. I have also not gone to a chiropractor or massage therapist in desperation for pain relief since I began using the brace. As a result, I am enjoying less financial strain along with less upper body pain.Except for the fit of the straps near my arm pits, the brace is comfortable. Sometimes I actually cross the straps in front of my neck rather than at back of my neck as instructed. This alleviates some of the discomfort in the arm pit area, but still stabilizes my spine. I usually choose not to wear the brace under clothes when I am out of the house because it is a bit bulky and makes my body look weird. However, I almost always wear the brace while going about my studies or chores. Typically, I wear the brace over my clothes. The only issue I have with this is that I don't like to pull my pants up over the brace. When I dress first and then put the brace on, the fit isn't a problem. The problem arises when I have to use the restroom. Trying to pull my pants up when I am wearing the brace, I cannot really get the waist under the brace as high as I would like. I end up wearing them very low on my waist, just pulling the pants up over the brace (which I don't prefer), or having to remove the brace entirely. It's only a minor nuisance--I would buy this brace again in a heartbeat. I am grateful to have found a product that improves the quality of my life.

I have purchased many back support belts and other devices trying to help my elderly mother find a comfortable fit that works for her back and shoulder support. She stoops due to osteoarthritis in her spine and bone loss. She is so self-conscious of her stature but mostly it's the pain that bothers her and slows her down. This brace gives great coverage and support for the lower back and the upper back. It is a little bulky but what support belt isn't? She can wear it under most of her clothes. The only part that shows is the upper back that goes over her shoulders at the base of her neck. It is not noticeable because of the light tan color. She has been wearing it every day since it arrived. The reason for the four stars is the part that goes under the arms makes her arms sore. It is a flat band with a soft moveable cover. I imagine anything with a little firmness at the armpits will make you sore. I'll probably be ordering her more. They are warm as they cover the torso from the upper hip to under the breast. In the summer they will be hot outside depending on where you live but if it worth the pain relief. It is for my sweet mom.

I was a little confused about size (cm), so I Googled conversion. My size is a large. Female, 5'9", 34" waist, 156 lbs. Easy instructions on the side of box about how to wear and I wear it over my clothes since it will need to be adjusted after sitting down. This is the best brace I have ever tried since it will cover from top of spine to lower back (hips). Better than the doctor provided orthotic brace I have. I have acute, irreversible nerve damage and nerve inflammation due to years of heavy lifting at work. Yes, I hurt every day, but due to muscle weakness, my body was slowly collapsing with my shoulders rolling forward. This brace is helping to stabilize my back by not bending at the waist and also pulling my shoulders back at the same time. Something to remember is this brace is to aid you and should be worn on a gradual basis. Your back takes time to recover and it probably will not be instant relief. I was already wearing a brace, so I wear this 8 to 12 hours a day. Standing is almost always preferred with a back injury and this brace gives the most benefit while standing. If sitting, you may need to unfasten the shoulder straps since they will try to roll into your arm pits. When standing, it is important that the shoulder strap is placed between the arm pit and shoulder as illustrated in the picture on the box. This is imperative to getting the correct kinetics for the alignment of the back. Presently, I have the two metal support rods in place but will change to the plastic ones once my alignment and flexibility are better. This has been a long recovery (2 years and 10 months), but after 3 days with this brace, I feel more support and less agony! Also remember that if you wear it too many hours, you will become stiff and not give your muscles time to recover. It is also important to have the waist bands over your core, not your upper waist. Try to always keep banded over the core (just below the belly button). Banding the core is what supports and aligns the back.When I wear this one out, I will certainly purchase another one from this seller! Paid for 2nd day delivery and it arrived a day early! Stellar!
