7 Day Programmable Digital Plug-In Electronic Timer socket 12-24 hour (1)

This is my second purchase of this timer as I find them easy to set-up and very reliable - the previous one is still working after several years - They keep good time and by pressing two buttons simultaneously (see instruction sheet) it will change from winter to summertime and vice versa.

Well made and easy to set up, had it over twelve months and the back up battery is as good as new. Keeps perfect time, reliable.

I do like these timers as they are quiet, easy to programme and stylish. So much nicer than the clunky and noise 24 hour wheel type. I didn’t give the product 5 stars as one failed after around 2 years of light use and I had to buy another. Good service by the seller who tends to deliver ahead of the target date.

All good so far. I use this as a timer for my fish tank lights so they go on in the morning and off at night as it saves me the hassle of getting up and switching them on and off myself (plus I sometimes forget to turn them off when I should). The timer seems sturdy and well built and is very easy to set. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and, so far, it's very reliable.

Unfortunately I can’t use this for what I purchased for. The raised ledge above the socket means my plug won’t fit! Had I put a bit of thought into it I may have realised it wouldn’t be suitable but I was flippant in my assumption. The shape is a flawed design as not all plugs come in a universal shape. It’s a shame as it looks and feels good quality and looks pretty straightforward to set up although I didn’t get that far…

The time switch has a relatively large screen. The shape is such that the screen is tilted slightly up, which is good for reading the display without unplugging. However, it does not need to be plugged in for setting the timing functions. Setting up takes a little practice, as there is a time-out such that if you pause too long to read the next instruction, the display resets itself. The timer is not suitable for those 'weird' mains plugs that have the wire extending from above (unless you can plug in a suitable adaptor first). The timer can have up to 20 on-off programs for different sets of weekdays. I imagine most people will only one. There is manual override button for On, Off or Auto. I'm fully satisfied with this timer. It does everything I want it to do, and more.

I think that the secret to setting these up is to RTFM. If you plug it in overnight, to charge up the back-up battery, you can then programme it as you sit in comfort, under a good light, with the little instruction leaflet. It doesn't have to be pluged in to the mains. I am using mine to turn off a router and an ethernet switch every day, for one minute (don't ask why). This means that my "prog 1 on" time is (say) 03:31 and my "prog 1 off" time is 03:30. However, I didn't have to wait until 03:31 to start using my network. The first press of "Man" turned the timeswitch on, and the second left it on, until the programme comes to turn it off at 03:30 tomorrow morning.... the operating instructions are very concise and complete. All of these features are explained. If you find that you're still flummoxed, substitute "day of the week" for "week" and "hour" for "our", then the instructions should make perfect sense.

This is my second purchase of the 7-day programmable timer as the first product seems to have been working reliably for some time. I bought this second one to replace an old timeswitch which finally stopped working after 20-years. I the Lowenergie timer easy to program, and it'll be a case of fit and forget. It retains its memory even when there's a power cut, and the specification says last 100 hours with no power, which is plenty. The only problem I had was that the angular shape of the LCD display, which makes reading and programming easy while in the power socket, doesn't allow a large power brick to plugged directly into the socket. The solution is simple, I plug in an extension socket and then plug the power brick into the extension lead. There are plenty of programming options, such as weekends only, weekdays only, all week, and many off/on options. Certainly more than I require.
