Would NOT recommend, nor buy again!
First off, I would not recommend anyone buy this product, but here’s my full review so you can make an informed decision yourself. I will list my cons first as they pertain to the health of my pets first, which I consider over the functionality of the product.CONS:1. The rubber ring around the edge of the base of the bowl. Fortunately, it’s designed to come off easy! It has an EXTREMELY STRONG smell of petroleum - quite literally like holding your nose to the nozzle of the pump at the gas station. Pet noses are a lot more sensitive than human noses, and I wouldn’t want them breathing that in at all!! Washing it didn’t help at all. I’ve put it in a ziploc bag for now and it’ll be going to recycling/trash. I don’t know how anyone could think that would be safe for pets!2. Without the rubber ring, you’ll need another way to keep the bowl from sliding around because it is a very light weight bowl.3. The bowl came with black smudges of the polish they use for the metal - which reminded me of the problem I had with my Kitchen Aid mixer bowl. The polish does NOT come off with washing in soap and water, nor the dishwasher, and it is ALL OVER the bowl even if you don’t readily see it. You have to spend usually over an hour or more using a lot of elbow grease, paper towels, and olive or vegetable oil. You need to use some olive/vegetable oil and aggressively rub the bowl (inside and out) with paper towels until they stop coming away black/grey from the polish, and after the paper towels come away clean, then you’ll need to wash normally with soap and water - so it’s A LOT of extra work just to get the bowl clean and safe to use. If you read Kitchen Aid mixer reviews here on Amazon you can see a NUMBER of complaints from people who didn’t know about this step and have had batches of batter/dough completely ruined and turned black/grey from the polish, even after having washed the stainless steel bowls normally. I only mention the Kitchen Aid mixer bowl problem because it’s the same [manufacturing] issue as with the pet bowl, and if you wouldn’t want that polish on your food, do you really want it infusing your pet’s drinking water or food?? This is a fairly common issue with stainless steel as it’s one of the ways manufacturers reduce their cost by eliminating the step(s) to clean off the polish and leaving it as an relatively undeclared end user issue. As far as I’m aware, after you have taken the steps above to clean off the polish, the bowls should be safe to use - it’s just a LOT of extra work most people are not counting on (I myself had forgotten about this until I saw the smudges on my pet bowl to remind me 😠)PROS:1. The design/shape of the bowl is such that it would be very difficult to tip.2. It’s relatively shallow enough that my cats shouldn’t have any issues with drinking from it.3. It was a bigger bowl than I could find at Petsmart, and arrived in 2 days with Prime shipping (I purchased the Goliath size).Other thoughts/notes:I have doubts it’ll hold as much water as claimed, but I was just more concerned about having something “big enough” to hold a couple of days worth for my small herd of pets. I would suggest to those reading to look for another option with a safer non-slip solution than this bowl with it’s wretched petroleum smelling rubber ring. If you’re willing to take the significant amount of time to properly clean the polish off this bowl, dispose of the rubber ring, and find another solution/expense to keep the bowl from slipping (like a silicon mat - double check the dimensions!!), then this bowl might be ok for you. Because of the cons I would not recommend this bowl because I believe there’s got to be a better option out there. The polish issue will likely be present with most stainless steel/polished metal bowls you look at, so keep that in mind. I hope my review has helped inform you better for your purchase decision. And lastly, I did not return this product, despite it’s cons, because I have an immediate need for it and can work around the flaws for now, even though it’s a P.I.T.A.. However, I would not purchase it again, would likely NOT have purchased if I’d known about these issues, and would recommend looking for a better product.

Cats can’t flip the bowl over! Eureka!
These are the best bowls!!!! Our kitten figured out how to tip over normal bowls and spill water/food everywhere! (She thought it was a fun game!) But after we started using these, she can’t flip them over!!! One of the best things we’ve purchased for her!! Highly recommend!!

This solved the problem of my cat tipping water bowls over.
My cat got in a bad habit of tipping water bowls over. Even bought a raised pet feeder and he found a way to lift the water bowl out and dump it. The only problem we had with this is while he couldn't tip it over he could scoot it around on the wooden floor. I bought a silicone pet feeding mat on here to go under this and that created enough friction it stopped him from sliding it around. Cleaning it is easy since it is stainless steel, I just wash it in the sink.

too light weight, but otherwise good.
I got this bowl in the 8 oz terrier size for my 16 pound miniature pinscher. A dog any larger you would need to size up. I find this bowl is too light weight. I got it so she couldn't knock it around, she still scoots it all over even though it has the rubber ring around the bottom. But she isn't knocking it over anymore so I guess it still does the trick even though it's so light. At first I didn't like that the rubber ring comes off so easily, but actually its a good thing for throwing it in the dishwasher. I can put the ring back on after the wash and not worry about making the ring brittle from the dishwasher. I was not paid for this review, I paid full price for this product, I am just sharing my experience hoping it helps others.

Works!
Larger bowl for a healthy male cat adult that likes to tip everything with water. He didn't with this one because it was large enough for him to drink and not have his whiskers in the way,

👍🏽 Bigger is better, for this bowl
I have a cat named Charlie. Charlie has an obsession with putting his paw inside of a water bowl, and physically dragging it.**PICTURED: THE WATER BOWL TIPPER AKA: SIR CHARLES THE 2nd AKA: CHARLIE AKA: DAM••ED CAT DID IT AGAIN**Unfortunately this water bowl obsession has caused quite a few messes.I’ve done just about everything to discourage this habit. So, I broke down and bought a “non-tippable ” water bowl. The water bowl I am replacing is the one I use for my 62 pound dog.But the cat happily shares/tips her bowl too. This bowl does it’s job beautifully. The cat is unable to drag it/tip it. I foolishly assumed that 16 ounces would be more than enough. Until it arrived. That’s when I learned 16 ounces is definitely not enough. It is definitely suggested to buy a larger size.Unless of course you have just one animal/a small animal. Then 16 ounces or smaller is probably very sufficient. But with large/multiples definitely go bigger than 16 ounces.Or else you will be refilling a few times a day.Which is no problem. But I learned a lesson for when I buy this bowl again ..So far, the cat or the dog has been unable to make this bowl budge on the tile floor. It is very well constructed, and it arrived quickly – Thank you Amazon prime ;)So, if you have a strange cat such as mine that is obsessed with dragging water bowls, and only bowls of water, around countertops and floors, looking for something that is mess free, and stable upon just about any flat surface, please look no farther. This item is one that is definitely for you.
