Kikkerland Big Wheel Revolving Wall Clock, Silver

I Love the look of the clock. I used to be a mechanic in the Navy, I own fast cars and street bikes, I moutain bike and have taken up cycling as another hobby so the gear design of this clock is perfect for my man cave. Not that most of you would care, but that is a big factor of my rating. Functionality, it tells the time and it tells it quite clearly. Each hash mark is 15 minutes and those are the only ones that really count. I've had it up on my wall for two weeks now and the time is still accurate. Why you might not like it: It's loud. It's not a clicking clock, but you can hear the motor turning away. In a quiet room this might be troublesome, but it's in my man cave, I'm watching movies, playing games, and listening to music, so it doesn't bother me. It's plastic. I wish it was some form of alloy, but it's not. This thing will break if handled too much. Put it on the wall and just forget about it. You can clearly see the lines where the numbered gear is put together. Upon assembly you have to snap several pieces (4?) of the big gear with the numbers together. Where those pieces meet you can see the line it forms. If not installed onto the wall completely flat against the wall the big gear will get stuck on one of the pieces behind it. This will burn out the motor if left in the stuck state. Luckily I was still admiring it when I noticed this issue. I reinstalled on my wall and monitored it closely over the next few hours. All good. So many negatives, but I still love it. Like I said, put it on the wall and forget about it. Looks great in my man cave and it's perfect for my character.

What a unique and cool clock! It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be so I had to hang it in a different location but I really like it. I have had this clock for nearly a year now and it keeps accurate time. I have not had to change the batteries. It does occasionally make a little noise when one of the four mating seams in the outer ring are passing over the timing gear but that only happens every three hours and I don't notice it unless I am sitting right next to it and the room is completely silent. There is a pressure spring behind the timing gear which came out of it's groove in the timing shaft once so the clock quit working. It was easy to put back into the groove and everything works fine again. I'd say it was a fluke. This is a great decorative clock and I am very happy with it

My personal aesthetics lean towards metal, gears, and tech. In lieu of something fancy like a giant eInk display (LCDs are a no - glows are annoying), I wanted something like a skeleton watch. This fit my wants without breaking the bank. Although it's plastic, it's shiny enough to seem really nice at a causal look and light so it doesn't need to be drilled into the wall. I have some concerns that the plastic teeth on the gears would wear out but it's still works after several years. (Most of the gears spin for show - the real one is at the time marker.) The turning of the gears does make noise but only notable when absolutely quite. It's a constant soft chatter instead a louder tick of other analog clocks. Note: The time ring hangs so make sure to mount it as vertically as you can. I used some vinyl bumpers on the back of the battery case to help.

Just as a clock of its type is described, the Kikkerland Big Wheel Hour Clock is a timepiece for those with a wonderful imagination and depth on creative thinking. One can take from this artful timepiece the themes of Steampunk, HG Wells and many other science fiction themes. It is a great clock to place in an area that's frequented by visitors and passersby; and that's where my friend placed his gifted clock, in his living room for all to witness. I am incredibly surprised by how quiet it is, let alone by how mesmerizing it has made itself to be in the presence of my friend's home. Overall, this clock is a beautiful and practical thing that stands out for all to enjoy. Thanks, Kikkerland....because of the many negative reviews, we humbly PRAY our clock will work for a long while considering.

This is a great clock, it isn't cheap like some other posters are saying. It is plastic but solid and sturdy and to be honest who cares. So easy to put together, total time 5 minutes, just make sure you get the big ring on the right gear second one back. Just have to hang it where kids hands can't reach it, looks great on the wall and the first two people over liked it and asked about it. If you are undecided buy it.

Clock looks great, is easy to put together and mount on the wall. It is not made for high resolution time telling but can be read within 1-2 mins of the actual time. It looks awesome, all the gears move!, and is simple to readjust. The clock I received had a low “squeaking” sound but I easily fixed that with a qtip and some 3in1 oil on the shafts that made contact with the metal plate. The clock requires 2 D cell batteries that the instructions say to change every 6 months. Does not come with batteries. Very unique and easy to read from a distance. All in all I am very happy.

One set of gears did not run smoothly, it was visibly jerky. This appeared to affect the accuracy of the clock (off by an hour the day after I put in the batteries). Kikkerland could offer no advice and said I had to return it via Amazon. Disassembling the clock was VERY DIFFICULT and resulted in a nasty gouge on my knuckles.

I’m a sucker for cool unusual clocks. This fit the bill. Looks good on the wall. Wouid be great for gifts

I love this clock. It is in my classroom and students feel compelled to figure it out. And it is in theme with my STEAM lessons. I have had it for three years and it is still keeping accurate time. Needs a new set of batteries about once a year, as expected. It has light plastic ring gears and a strong, metal housing that make it durable but not too heavy to hang without wall anchors.

Assembly was easy the hour wheel is made up of quarters and clicks together satisfactorily, which is then hung on to the hour drive of the already assembled main wall mechanism. Impressive presence, occasionally making a click noise, did have to add a spot of electrical contact cleaner to each axle bearing because it squeaked about every ten seconds. But that’s gone. Wish the creator or designer had managed to add a 0-15 minute wheel in the middle. But maybe the complication would not have taken it. Easy enough to read in my opinion.

Superb product looks great on the wall and everyone talks about it when they see it. Runs in complete silence. Real value for your hsrd earned cash. Not had to adust for timekeeping since purchase. Size is perfect.
