K&N NextGen Cold Air Intake System: High-Flow Cotton Filter: Compatible with 2014-2020 CADILLAC/CHEVRLOET/GMC Escalade; Silverado 1500; Suburban; Tahoe; Sierra 1500; Yukon; Yukon XL; 50-3082

I installed the K&N NextGen Cold Air Intake on my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT with 5.3L V8 motor and the first thing I noticed was the sound. At idle it’s subtle, but the moment you step into the throttle the truck wakes up with a deep, throaty growl that just wasn’t there before. It makes every on-ramp and passing maneuver a lot more fun. I’m not sure how big the actual performance gains are on paper, but I’ll be honest: I find myself hitting the gas harder just to hear it. Throttle response feels sharper and the intake noise under load sounds like the truck can finally breathe the way it was meant to. Install was straightforward if you’re reasonably handy with basic tools, and the fit and finish look clean under the hood. Overall, if you’re mainly after better sound and a more engaging driving experience, this intake delivers. Performance gains or not, it absolutely transformed how my truck feels to drive.

I am very happy with this cold Air Intake. Wow. Power, torque and fuel economy just depends on how you use the gas pedal. I love the sound the engine makes when hauling in the extra air. Very noticeable difference. Huge improvement when traveling in the mountains, I do not need the full gas pedal like I used to, torque difference is amazing.

Now I'm gonna start off with saying I do love k@n and have used them a lot on the past, however the install on this one kinda was terrible. Also context I'm a professional mechanic and work on cars every day, and let me tell you this thing was by no means a simple rip out and throw this one on. First issue I had to drill the holes for mounting the MAF sensor and also notch out the intake itself for it to fit and align properly, difficult for me no but annoying for a product I spent 400$ on. Secondly trying to get that tube installed was very difficult unless you do it in a very specific way, one in which was not clearly stated in the instructions. I did eventually get this thing installed in probably 45 mins, which for a air filter and me working on cars for a living is pretty sad. One last thing is the pcv hose they give you simple will slip off the quick connect fittings with ease, they didn't include hose clamps for you to properly attach those hoses. Okay enough complaining I think, the truck sounds cooler haha and it definitely feels more powerful but with all the hassle I think it was to much money

Instructions are very straightforward had no issues following them or completing the job. Absolutely no guess work. Filter is definitely huge and open. Highest of quality which is to be expected from a company like K&N. 0-30mph is where I feel like there’s the most power increase. Can’t speak much for fuel efficiency or gas mileage yet. With a tune I’m sure you could get much more and expect much more from the product but no tune is required and that’s why I purchased it. As a bonus it works on the 5.3 engine but the provide a coupler for the 6.2 engine/throttle body so if you have the 6.2 drop this bad boy in or if you plan to upgrade your throttle body and intake manifold to the 6.2 or already have this would make for a great addition to your set up and you should see substantial power increase with a good tune and exhaust. So wether this is your first upgrade or an overdue upgrade longevity of the product should be of no concern to you.

Instructions are horrible and the clamps they provide don’t fit I had to go but knew ones!

Great install very clean and simple VERY noticeable difference!

I installed the NextGen model on my 2019 5.3L Tahoe Texas Edition SUV. Very disappointed with form and fit for this unit. It was very difficult to get the air box into position and required removal of a corner brace to do so. The remainder of the install was going as planned until it was time to connect the cold air pipe between the throttle body and the air box. It simply did not fit. It was about 1.5 inches too long. In order to make it work required trimming a little more than an inch of the pipe on the air box end. Luckily, it is made of plastic and there was enough smooth material left on the box end of the pipe to allow engagement of the band clamp. In the end the installation was successful but not pleasant. I could not find any reviews of the NextGen model air intake at all. Am I the first?

I bought it for my 2015 GMC Sierra 5.3 and it's alright definitely noticed a power difference but this this is excessively noisy under heavy load or anything more than 1/4 throttle. My exhaust is quite loud and this is more audible than my exhaust from in the truck most times. Very good quality product but the noise is a bit much for me

Easy install took maybe 45 minutes Sounds awesome and defently can feel a lil increase in hp But most of all sounds awesome I recommend getting a fine filter bag of you live on dirt rd !
