Fun for the whole family!
I recently bought the SIMREX X800 drone for my young nephew for Christmas, and it’s been an absolute hit! This drone strikes the perfect balance between fun and functionality, making it an excellent choice for beginners of all ages. My nephew, who’s new to drones, quickly got the hang of the controls thanks to its intuitive design and simple setup process. Watching him confidently fly it and pull off 360° flips has been so rewarding, it’s clear this drone was made with young users in mind. What surprised me even more is how much fun I’ve had with it as an adult! The SIMREX X800 is not just a toy, it’s also a fantastic entry level drone for adults looking to get into flying. The headless mode, one-key takeoff/landing, and altitude hold features make it easy for anyone to start, even if you’ve never touched a drone before. It’s a great way for parents, aunts, or uncles like me to bond with their kids while learning a new skill. The stability during flight is remarkable for such a compact and lightweight drone, and its foldable design makes it incredibly convenient to carry around. My nephew loves taking it to the park, and I’ve even taken it for a spin myself. The battery life is solid for its price range, and having an extra battery on hand means the fun can last even longer. Whether you’re buying it for a child, a teenager, or even an adult who wants to learn the basics of drone flying, the SIMREX X800 is an incredible choice. It’s affordable, durable, and delivers so much value for its price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable starter drone that’s fun for the whole family!

Easy to Fly For Beginner!
This is my first drone so I can't compare it to others but my experience with this item has been superb. The instructions were clear and the drone was easy to set up. Took a few minutes to install the optional blade guards and I read through the operating instructions as I charged both batteries. The drone feels like it is built well. I like the folding wings which make it compact and easy to store. Having never flown a drone before, I made sure to use this in my living room with lots of open space. I used the auto launch button on the controller to take off and land the drone until I was used to the controls. The drone will launch itself and then hover about 3-4 feet from the ground, waiting for you take take control with the joysticks. Pressing the button again will make the drone land itself softly. I also enabled headless mode which made the drone steer in the direction I moved the joystick no matter which direction the front of the drone was facing. The drone reacted as expected to the controls and is easy to steer. I did crash once when I got too close to a wall but neither the drone nor the wall suffered any damage. The battery lasted over 20 minutes of in-flight time which I thought was excellent. The batteries are easy to swap and I was flying again in under a minute. I experimented with the different speeds on my second flight and found the drone to be faster and more responsive on speed level 3. I took the drone outside to try out the auto flip function which worked flawlessly. I tried out the app and the video quality was very good. All in all, I'm very pleased with this drone and I think it is an excellent value.

Great starter drone
In my testing of this drone, even inside of the house, it’s able to stay within a 1 square foot area while hovering. If you get too close to a wall, the draft will make it unstable, however. In my use, I flew it probably around 200 feet high and around 800 feet from where I was standing. One of my favorite features is being able to control the drone from the perspective of the controller rather than the direction. The drone is facing this made it significantly easier as an inexperienced drone user. It says that the battery will last for around 15 minutes, however I had slightly longer fly time than that. There is no warning for when the battery runs out. It kind of just slowly goes down to the ground wherever it is. The picture quality on this is fairly poor. I would say it’s something around 480 however it is listed as 1080. There is an app that you connect to allow you to see through the drone. However, the app itself is a fairly poor quality, but it does work and function. Well the user interface is just not up-to-date with most other companies at this point. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic starter drone. It allowed me to get used to flying one and certainly makes me want to purchase a higher end one at some point in the future. This would be great for anyone starting out.

Hours of fun for the family
Sometimes I just can't help myself. I recently purchased the Simrex X3000C drone, and it was great. I had family over, and we had hours of fun flying it around the house and backyard. The only problem was my nephew liked the drone so much that he was on the verge of tears when he couldn't take it with him. So, wanting to share when I can, I bought him the Simrex X800 drone. He loves it. I mentioned this in my X3000C review, but if you are looking at drones, manage your expectations. These are good starter drones and are relatively inexpensive. They are meant to be used for entertainment purposes. Many of the reviews I have read try to compare these drones to much more expensive options. The camera is fun and clear enough to get some good shots. Don't expect 4K. Battery life is good, but don't expect to fly it for hours. The controls are great and intuitive. If you want something for the family to enjoy without breaking the bank, this drone is for you. Buy it and enjoy it around the house or backyard.

Fun drone, easy to fly, even for a newb
I had no experience trying to fly a drone prior to getting this Simrex x800 drone toy. The tldr - I'm hooked. I spent a few minutes examining the user's manual, which is brief but thorough enough. Pairing the remote, and installing and connecting the app were very straightforward. Flying was a breeze, in particular thanks to the optional "auto" modes for takeoff and landing. One button press, and the drone starts and hovers at about 1 meter. When you press the auto-land function, it gently sets itself down. Once lifted, the remote has controls to raise/lower, turn left/right, move forward/backward/left/right. After a few minutes, it's pretty easy to get the hang of. The photos and videos this drone takes are great - actually much better quality than I was expecting, given the price of the drone. One note: when you read in the description that it has an "adjustable 90-degree camera lens", that's true. However, you adjust it while you're holding the drone in your hand. While in flight, there's no remote control function to change the camera angle. That's probably obvious to more experienced fliers, but it wasn't to me. The battery life felt short to me...but you really do get the ~20 minutes they advertise. The problem is, it's so much fun to fly, that it *feels* like 5 minutes! It's no wonder you you don't get more time - the battery is necessarily feather-light. Have no fear however. Since Simrex includes two batteries, you can be charging one while flying with the other! Another nice touch is that Simrex also included a number of spare prop blades. I assume this is the part most often lost or damaged in a crash. So far I haven't needed a spare, but I'm glad they are included. Bottom line is this toy is loads of fun, and I can't wait to get it outside more. Snow has arrived where I live, and I'll probably wait until we get a little warmer weather before taking it outside again. I see that as I write this, there's an associated $10 coupon. I felt like it was a great deal when I got it, but at almost 20% less, it that much better. So much fun for so little money!
