Great toy
My son loved this! He enjoyed putting it together and playing with it. Extremely time consuming to assemble but he had fun.

Fun build for my 8 yr old
Such a fun build for my 8 year old! He’s my little builder and is into little things. This build took him about 4 hours give or take. He did it with very little adult help. Wasn’t fully functional at the end. There are so many tiny parts and you have to be very meticulous to pull the build off but he had fun!

Parent/Child Project
This kit is an exciting one to put together. It is educational, interactive, and a great gift for mechanically minded kids. Keep in mind, an adult may need to be available for help with instructions if under 12.

Very cheap and difficult to assemble
I wasn’t expecting such a difficult assembly. I feel the product description leaves out this detail. When my granddaughter opened this and I saw the hundreds of cheap plastic pieces my heart sank. She lives abroad and I only had one afternoon to spend on this with her. Fortunately my son was able to help. It took 3-1/2 hours with the two of us working together (both degreed engineers) to build “Carl”. The parts are cheap with terrible tolerances. The assembly is rickety at best. The assembly process is difficult for adults so not sure how a 12 year old would manage it without help. After three times testing the ejecting tongue, a tiny blue piece came out from the bowels of the assembly, rendering the tongue inoperable. Carl would not walk on carpet at all and only barely walk on wood floor while tipping over easily. I don’t expect this to last very long. My son will have to tear it almost completely apart to get the piece back in that came out. I was also expecting actual basic software coding to control the chameleon but admittedly I didn’t read the product description fully. I was very disappointed in this product. It’s just as cheap as the price would suggest. I should have known better.

perfect for my 10-year old
This was a last minute gift for my grandson that loves anything STEM related and this toy was perfect for him. He is 10 and it was the perfect amount of challenge and fun.

Time consuming and fragile
This was my 10yo son's #1 item on his Christmas wishlist. It was far beyond his skill level to out together and took many hours to build. After we finished, it listened to program command, but only walked backwards when in pet/wild mode and the tongue would not shoot and only retracted.. Hand to disassemble and rebuild. User error because we finally got it to work. The parts went together as shows in the manual and the photos in the manual were honestly great. We did have to order a clipper set to better remove the peices from their sheets so we didnt have to sand the bits down one by one. Within the week, one of the main moving parts (for the front leg movement) broke. We are still trying to figure out how to fix it so he can play with the toy again. Honestly, it is super cute, but unless you have a very particular child that it hyperfocused on keeping toys in ideal shape... best to skip.

Fun, but not a great coding toy
My son was excited to get this robot and he really loves it. That being said, it was a lot of work to put together and it was more than he could do. I didn't mind putting it together for him, but it was still a lot. I'm not sure the robot is functioning like it's supposed to, but my son doesn't seem to care. It's a fun toy and seeing how the gears work together is educational, but anyone looking for a robot that can be coded and responds to input may be disappointed.

Very cute gift
Gave as a gift - very cute and fun for the kids but not sure how long the battery lasted.

Not impressed with this seller
Took forever to build to then find the plastic gears were faulty and just spinning instead of making proper contact to run the toy. It's was extremely loud. They refunded my product money and made me pay my own $30cdn shipping to even get that partial refund

Disappointed
It does not do what it says it’s going to. Another cheap plastic toy

Ok but frustrating assemble
Overall it seems to be a entertaining toy. But assemble is very hard to 8yo and most pieces require filing/sanding to work properly. Tolerances are very tight for a plastic toy and can cause frustration or even prevent some features to work at all. I personally had to disable the shooting tongue since I was not able to make it to work, even after completing all troubleshooting steps.
