エステス 2246 アルチメーター (高度計)

説明書は英語だけど、使い方を見ながら設定した。 が、モデルロケットに取り付けても高度が測れなかった。 ①スイッチオン ②ボタンを押して0000表示 フィートorメートルは別にしても、①②以外に設定あるのだろうか？ そうでなければ、不良品？ 追記2025.5.16 モデルロケットのヘッドに吸気孔以外に排気口を設けたらしっかり計測できた。 空気の流れをセンサーが感知して動くものだった。 これで使い方は問題なし。ちゃんとメートル計測もできた。ちなみに写真はフィート。

H27/11/15に購入し、ウオーターロケットに搭載して現在も使用中です。高度が簡単に測定できるのでとても便利です。また、思いのほか丈夫なのに驚きました。というのは、パラシュートが開かずロケットが約40ｍの高度から地面に激突したことがありますが、激突直後は常に高度0ｍが表示され壊れてしまったと思い、１ヵ月半程ほっておき処分する前に念のために再度ロケットに搭載して同じ条件（水量、空気圧）で打ち上げて見たところ、以前とほぼ同じ高度が表示されたからです。条件を変えて見ても激突前とほぼ同じ高度を表示します（数ｍ差異はありますが、気象条件が異なり完全に同じ条件で打ち上げできないため事実上問題なしと言えます）。それでも、☆を４つとしたのは、高度の単位を「ｍ」に切り替えても電源をオフにすると常に「ｆｔ」に戻ってしまうことと、電池が手に入りにくいためです。 ＜H28/7/10追記＞ アルチメーターとして、本商品よりも新しいものが発売されています。Jollylogic(USA)社製の「AltimeterONE」、「AltimeterTWO」です。前者はロケット、飛行機、凧、気球などに使用できる、後者は画期的ロケット専用とのことです。ここでいうロケットは本来火薬を使うモデルロケットを想定しているようですが、YOUTUBEでUSAの動画を見ていますと、水ロケットでも使用されています。更に新商品として、同社から「AltimeterThree」（ロケット,ヘリ,タコ,グライダ等に利用可能とのこと）が発売されているようです。これらの商品は、例えばモデルロケットを取り扱っている「ケイテック/湘南ロケット/ロケットランド」のホームページから「新アクセサリ・部品」のページを閲覧すると、機能の説明や価格等が分かりますので、興味のある方は是非一度閲覧されるといいのではないかと思います。

This altimeter made my son's science fair project a breeze. For the project we tested to see if the body length affects the rocket's altitude. We built 3 rockets from scratch using all the same supplies from an awesome online rocket site. We attached the altimeter to the nose cone via the provided clip (see image), turned the altimeter on and launched. The first test launch landed in a tall tree and we thought the altimeter (and rocket) was lost. But after I scaled the tree and used a long pole I eventually got it back. We rejoiced. A day later poison oak broke out all over my hands and neck. Much misery. Anyway, all the subsequent launches went great, the altimeter provided the data we needed and we retrieved all of the rockets without incident. There was a question about whether we missed recording an altitude...this altimeter recorded the launches and we cycled through them all to ensure we had them written down. Awesome feature! Overall, this altimeter adds an additional wow factor to the already exciting hobby of rocket building. I haven't had any issues after about 12 launches.

Second estes altimeter. Never fails. Would recommend.

This Item never work as it should in a reliable fashion it did not record an altitude on two launches that we made. It did record an altitude using the tupperware box trick. there was plenty of air getting to it so it should have worked but sadly didn't. The seller did a partial refund.
