Once you get a feel for how it works, it's a versatile device that can be very helpful in the kitchen, particularly if you need to do a volume of vegetable chopping. Depending on your cooking habits, you might like or dislike this device. It has significant pros and cons. Look at my pictures, and you'll get the points quickly. I was most impressed with the fine dice it got on my onions using the "chop" setting; they are pictured in a bowl. Cutting by hand, I would never chop them that finely, yet this did the job quickly and easily. I tried it on zucchini, mushrooms, and peppers and eventually got the right cuts. It will take at least three uses to get familiar with the machine; it's hard to understand how all the blades work. I suggest just trying it, examining the result, and going from there. Safety is also a huge plus. Several other reviewers have noted that it requires less exposure to the blades than the standard mandolin slicer. You can still cut yourself when cleaning the blades, but you won't slice off a finger. Once you get used to it, it's easy to set up and disassemble again. Its most significant limitation is that it's a pain to clean. As my pictures show, food particles get embedded all over the machine. The product comes with a small brush, but a larger brush would be more helpful. The other limitation is that all the parts are plastic except for the blades. Overall, I would recommend this for someone who cooks in large batches. If you just need to chop a couple of vegetables, the time required to clean the device will eliminate any time savings compared to manually slicing them. If you regularly feed a large group or family, or you need precision in your cooking, give this a try.

This mandolin makes slicing fast, easy, and way less risky—no more worrying about cutting your fingers. I love that the dials control everything, so there are no loose blades or attachments to deal with. It’s compact, sharp, and the suction cups hold it steady while you work. Cleanup isn’t perfect, but it’s dishwasher safe, which helps a lot.

This item is good for people with patience :) I completely disagree with reviews about a time saver. You will slice faster than with a knife, but then....you will clean it forever. That is first. Second, the dicer is a big joke. You have to slice first, then put all rounds back to the feed port, adjust both modes and dice. The expected cubes come out as uneven pieces of different sizes. The french fries cut is ok, but the pieces are short. Back it goes.

With the exception of the controls this is very close to the design of it's bigger bother. They were from different vendors, but pretty obviously use much of the same design with some differences. A minor weakness from both is the small suction cups on the base could be larger. Plus, you do need a very smooth surface to attach to, a porous surface won't stick. In heavy use these will likely fail at some point, but they stayed intact for my testing. This model is about 1/3 smaller overall than its big brother. It will still slice most cucumbers, zucchini, carrots, and onions. They can't be the jumbo type you you'll have to cut them down to size. Adjustment controls are almost identical between the two models as you can control the width of the slices and two rows of teeth for stripping or shredding. The action and safety come from a dual return spring that only require you to do the downward push, then return to the top. This model differs from its big brother that instead of engaging a latch to keep handle down when storing, this one has you twist the round handle to lock. Its big brother requires a latch since it's a rectangular shaped handle. Both units fold down for easy storage although you do have to store the catch container and the pusher separately as they don't compact. The catch container is a little tricky you need to make sure the legs open out as far as possible to insert the container and it will fit level with the back on a ridge. Cleaning is relatively easy the main blade is sprayed off or soaked and the teeth should be extended and use the included brush to clean along with the plastic ridges. Blades are stainless to they should not rust. A small downside of this is the hopper is not very big so if making a decent size salad or recipe you'll have to empty it a few more times. Most veggies seem to cut well, but on large carrots you need some momentum, and I would not advise for a summer sausage or other meat products. Soft tomatoes should also be done with speed, or they may mash rather than cut. Unlike some but not all mandolins this does not have a side angled blade for starting the slicing motion. It's straight on, but proper action should slice or shred most things just fine. Recommended.

This is fun and satisfying to use. It slices potatoes REALLY thin. It does struggle a bit with tomatoes and really you end up with shredded pieces of tomato. I don't really like that it doesn't come apart for cleaning.
