Great value for the money
I love the weight and the smooth operation. Anti-reverse is solid and the reel is fast. I paid less than $189 for my size 40, but I paid $189 for the size 25 and I would pay $200 for either of them. Incredible reels. They replaced 2 Quantum Bocas from 2005?2007? that really had nothing wrong with them. Great company, great product.

Smooth and dependable.
I mainly fish backwater, flats, and inlets along the gulf of Mexico and these reels handle Snook, Tarpon, Reds, Cobia, Grouper, etc. with ease.I have three 40s, two series IIIs and a speed freak. I service em every 6 months and none have failed me.

Great reel for saltwater
I used this reel with a friend, it was his, but 1st cast caught a 22” snook, I was sold on the reel, I haven’t been able to use mine, because I am turkey hunting,👍

Not good at all!
Line was installed correctly for this $140 spinning reel. The first 30 minutes, backlash occurred twice where I had to spend lots of time untangling the line. Noticed the line was not going on even after reeling in and stacking up at the bottom. The next few hours, the line started to go on even and did not backlash until... The last backlash happened and completely ended the day. The tangle was so bad that it could not be undone until home. The tangle was actually underneath and inside the spool/gear area. There is too much of a gap between the spool allowing the line to enter during a cast. I have owned several Shimano's and never had this happen. I was given a full refund and upgraded to the Shimano Stradic.

Great Saltwater Reel
Model 30 is a great size for bay fishing for Trout and Redfish.Model 40 gives you a little more drag for bringing in the larger fish.

Nice quality reel
Was looking for a Cabo reel in this size (they don't make it) - chose the Quantum saltwater reel for catching redfish and trout inshore - should be perfect
